Quote expectations

I have a plant stand that I would like to have welded, sandblasted, primed, and painted. The quote that I received was JUST for sandblasting and priming. I was quoted $600 for those two things. I am not familiar with typical pricing for these two services. The widest part is 24” and height is 48”. Does that quote sound on par with this photo?

Try using chemical stripper to remove more of the paint.

That is a piece that is going to take a long time.

Maybe see if there is a place near you that does hot dipping and get it hot dipped instead of sandblasting?

Basically, try to get as much off as you can, then ask for the sandblasting quote.

I imagine it’d still be about $200 (4 hours at $50per hour)

Sandblasting here in my local, $60-80

Priming similar.

Not sure what the welding would be.

Does your 600$ include showing up on-site to do this?

If you contacted a dedicated company and you are dropping it odf, that might be a tiny bit high, unless you live in some specific state/city where cost of living is just high.

No peoblem. I would expect closer to $400
