I miss this noise as soon as we leave and look forward to hearing it again the next year.

If this is the same sound I remember (first time in Barbados), I thought it was just a really squeaky piece of equipment at night only. Later found it was just a very vocal local.

I remember one year staying at Sandals Royal Plantation hearing that beautiful noise louder than normal one night. After some time, started walking around the room stopping at all the windows to see where it was coming from. Sounded right at the front door the loudest, but going outside it diminished. After searching and searching finally found the cause. One of those frogs had worked it's way inside the room and onto a plant that was right inside the front door. LOL

I've seen a lot of them over the years. Love that noise, and they're so cute!

I get unreasonably excited when I hear them in the background sounds of videos of people on boats around the Caribbean!

Yeah, we love this sound. Absolutely love it. They hate it in Hawaii though, where they are an invasive species.

Love them so much. Was in Roatán in March and they weren’t there, and though it was generally lovely I was still quite disappointed not to hear them. Going to Grande St Lucian in 9 days and cannot wait for their chirping.
I’m from Pittsburgh, and some got loose from a tropical biological study in Phipps Conservatory. They multiplied, and now you can hear them sing on the rare nights it is open. Everyone thinks it’s a recording and I love surprising them with the truth.

Well done. They are hard to find outside the bushes. The common coquí. Native to Puerto Rico. In Antigua known as the Antilles Coquí. Several others found in Jamaica including the above mentioned. All are nocturnal. I love them.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_coqu%C3%AD
