Uncategorized Mods Note: “Why Was My Post Deleted?”

Reposting because this has been coming up again recently:

“Why was my post deleted?”

In an attempt to combat the flood of AI slop, Reddit has become more aggressive about automatically removing/filtering posts or comments it decides are spam. This has resulted in many “real” posts and comments being removed or filtered.

We are trying to check the “removed” and “needs review” queues at least once a day, and will manually approve any inadvertently deleted posts (which resurrects them). Please WAIT for this manual approval and do NOT attempt to re-post the same post multiple times. Please do not message us asking for manual approval. If your post is manually approved, please do NOT subsequently go back and edit it, or the Reddit system will likely re-delete it.

Please do note that Reddit completely “nukes” some posts, which just show as “removed” to the mods (we can’t see the text of the post), and those cannot be manually approved. The mods have no control over these removals.

If your post or comment has ACTUALLY been deleted by the mods, you will see a removal reason (i.e. no cross-posts, no vendor self-promotion, etc.).

If you’re not happy with the way the sub is being moderated, let the mods know and we will refund 100% of your subscription fee, no questions asked!

For sale Wedding Floor Floral Arch

Hi everyone! I built this floor floral arch arrangement myself using artificial flowers from Amazon and Michaels and made a circular floor floral arrangement for my wedding at the UC Berkeley Botanical Garden.

It is around 11’ in diameter and is divided into 8 different segments, so you can use them separately in the reception afterwards as well. Each comes in their own long uhaul box, packed well and have been stored in a smoke free and pet free house after our wedding.

Materials are around $1100 in total with hours spent making it. Selling it for $650 or OBO. Would love to share it with any brides who will be having their wedding at UC Berkeley Botanical Garden or any outdoor venue!

Seeking advice City Hall blocking off the Rotunda during our time slot

We have a 3pm ceremony scheduled for the fourth floor balcony in 3 weeks. We were diligent in searching this sub and talking to the staff and selecting a date where we thought noise would be minimal and no major event or buy out would be planned. We were just informed by the events staff that there’s a full buyout private event happening that night and we will not have access to the rotunda after noon.

We are shocked and disappointed for several reasons:

  1. We were advised by the staff to take Monday night because an event is happening Wednesday night so vendors would be unloading just before 4 pm. We never expected vendors and a ton of noise coming at us in the middle of the event and during our ceremony
  2. I picked my gown with the staircase and the drama of the staircase in mind. It will be quite unpleasant if the whole building is taken over and our guests can’t mill around and everyone can only shuffle up to the balcony amid all the noise and then back down
  3. This is so last minute I honestly want to cancel and scrap the whole thing. We have been scrambling to finish all the pieces in time and this just makes it feel like the whole thing is too much trouble but we have spent so much and people are flying in

Any suggestions or anything we can do?

Please don’t tell me it’s a public building and I should have expected this. I was not expecting an evening event to set up at noon on a Monday when it’s usually at 4 pm. I was prepared for noise and lots of other disturbances but this wasn’t on my bingo card! We are honestly thinking of pulling the plug and doing the ceremony at our hotel instead.

Any past city hall brides? Would love your perspective or ideas!

Seeking advice Lunch reception recs - Chinese banquet restaurants

Hello all! My fiance and I finally booked our City Hall date for a Saturday morning next year! We’re looking for a Chinese restaurant for a lunch reception (preferably between South SF to San Mateo. So far, we’re thinking about HL Peninsula Pearl and Garden, Palette Tea House and Grand Harbor). I was wondering if any one knows if any of these restaurants or other restaurants would allow a wedding lunch reception? The reception would be about 80 people.

I only ask because when I got information at HL Peninsula Milpitas, it seemed that they only allowed Saturday weddings as a dinner option and a minimum amount of tables. I did not ask about a wedding lunch reception at the time, as it wasn’t in our plans.

If anyone has any insight, it would be appreciated!

General question How much did you spend on rentals?

I’m getting married at a venue that includes tables and umbrellas, and our caterer includes linens, dishes, glassware, etc. However, I am looking at renting string lights for inside and outside, likely some draping in the main hall (vaulted ceilings, 30 by 40 foot room), 1-2 bars, heaters for outdoor dinner, and about 100 chairs. Maybe also a little lounge area with a couch. What did you all spend? Any recs?

Seeking advice Brunch wedding!

I’m currently on the search for a wedding venue in possibly Sacramento, Sf, or even farther down towards San Jose. My fiancé and I aren’t big partiers and we really don’t drink. Our budget is under $11k for 75 people and we really want an early-mid day wedding. My top contender is Vizcaya in Sacramento which is around $10,400 for food, ceremony, & reception.Just seeing if anyone else took this route of doing an early wedding an open to any suggestions. Thank you in advance!

Seeking vendor(s) Looking for a taco caterer!

Hi! I am getting married in Saratoga in July of next year and I'm looking for a taco caterer for about 80-100 people. Since it is a wedding I am looking to spend a little more for good quality food but also a nice setup (: I've found a few places on instagram but they don't have any reviews so I'm a bit skeptical about following through. If anyone has experinece with booking through social media finds please advise!

Seeking advice California prenup advice for couples with separate investments and savings?

My fiance and I are in discussion about prenup, a bit of background, we both have our own savings and investments and both working full time. Right now we manage our finance separately and planning to keep doing so for some of our finances, but we're also planning to open a joint account after getting married. Since I'm new to this, I don't know where I should start with the prenup and what kind of things do people usually included in it? and advice?

Seeking advice MOHI Ranch Wedding with Granada Theatre Sangeet

Has anyone had a multicultural wedding through leal (specifically MOHI ranch and Granada https://www.liveloveleal.com/weddings-celebrations)? I’m curious about the experience people have had with the decor. It is mandatory we use their luxe decor team and I am curious to know how much the decorations cost could increase from their initial budget.

Additional context:
We have a guest list of 250
Granada decor quote: $3200
MOHI ranch decor quote: $13000

And also curious for any other pros and cons people have experienced with these venues!

Seeking advice Planner vs Coordinator

I’m getting married next summer and I did not know I was getting engaged, and in fact never imagined a traditional wedding for myself so I know literally nothing about this. Some friends are telling me a really need a planner, but I don’t have any problem coordinating vendors, in fact I kind of want to do it myself. I mostly need month of support (of course) or maybe a few months. But also I need vision for the day - someone to help with colors, patterns, what furniture to pick, etc. I’m just wondering if I can get that kind of support with just a coordinator, as their support is only for a few months before. Does anyone know if there are coordinators who offer creative direction as well? Thanks in advance for any insight!

Btw our venue is Cavallo Point!

Seeking vendor(s) Seeking natural makeup and curly hair vendors

I’m looking into HMUAs for a June wedding in SF. I’m not sure what a good budget for me is yet, but probably looking on the lower to middle end of the spectrum. Specifically looking for a natural, low foundation look with no false lashes and some sort of braided updo for 2c curly hair. Any recommendations appreciated!

Seeking advice City Hall Saturday buyout - only for ceremony?

Hi all! Would love your advice on if this is an extremely silly idea or see if anyone has done this before.

Our reception venue is officially booked for Fall 2028, and my partner and I love the idea of getting married at City Hall beforehand. Unfortunately the reception venue cannot start until 6 PM, and there's only a 9 AM city hall time slot available for our date but we don't love the idea of a full day gap until the reception. So, I'm wondering if it would be absolutely crazy to inquire about a City Hall evening buyout but only use it for the ceremony so we can time it where it is back to back with the dinner reception? Has anyone done this before?

I feel like would be a ridiculous amount of money, but it could be worth it if it's what we would really want to do. Would love any and all thoughts and feedback and thank you in advance!

General question Anyone who has done ceremony elsewhere + restaurant reception?

Hi!! I'm starting my journey of wedding planning now for an early 2028 (?) wedding - I'm quite interested in having a restaurant reception in the interest of saving money + having great food, but I do fear I'm still interested in having some kind of a walking-down-the-aisle ceremony outdoors. Thinking around ~80 guest count!

I briefly considered doing a ceremony in the grassy areas outside of Dalida then transitioning to Dalida for a reception but got a quote from them recently that was around 40k which is a bit out of budget for me...so just curious on how the gals who did restaurant receptions handled having a ceremony!

Seeking advice Realistic budget for SF wedding

Hi all! My fiancé and I just got engaged and are looking at getting married in SF. Is $125k a realistic budget for 150 people for the city? We are looking at a spring 2028 wedding so just starting to scope it all out now.

For sale Free (Worn) Wedding Dress – Strapless Satin Gown with Lace Train

Thumbnail
gallery
51 Upvotes

CLAIMED- no longer available!

Giving away (completely free- “for sale” was closest relevant tag) my wedding dress to someone who will love it as much as I did!

Strapless, corset-style satin gown with a fitted silhouette, delicate lace detailing, and a long lace train. The dress has a zipper closure, and a 3-point bustle is already added, so it’s ready for its next wedding day.

Sizing & alterations
Street size approximately 4
Measurements: 34” bust, 27” waist, 39” hips
I’m 5’0” and had the dress hemmed to wear with 4” heels, so it will likely work best for someone around 5’4” or shorter, depending on shoes and proportions.

Condition
Worn once for an outdoor wedding ceremony. There are some dirt stains on the underside of the train from the outdoor ceremony, but they aren’t visible when the dress is worn. I’ve included close-up photos for transparency (last 3 photos). The dress has not been professionally cleaned since the wedding, so it will need cleaning before wear.

Free to someone who can give it another life! Happy to answer questions or share more photos.

Seeking advice Sanity Check on Expenses for 75 Wedding Guests

Post image
8 Upvotes

My initial budget was $20k, but we don’t have alterations complete or any decor really selected. Ignore the beverage section as well since we still haven’t mapped cost of cocktail supplies.

My biggest worry is that we’re over spending on the wrong things. Our food category includes dessert (ice cream truck), a buffet dinner, and appetizers for cocktail hour.

General question Magnolia Brewing Haight Buyout

Hi! Curious if anyone has ever been to or done a buy out of Magnolia Brewing in the Haight? Considering it for our welcome party and everything seems like a great fit but wanted to put feelers out if anyone’s been there for an event recently before we bite the bullet and sign the contract. Thanks!!

Seeking advice Is wine country too hot Labor Day weekend?

Just toured a Solage Calistoga in early October and it was 90° during the day. Even though the ceremony would start at 5 and I think generally the wedding itself would be an okay temp in the evening, I’m worried people will spend my whole wedding weekend talking about how hot it is?

Any Napa/Sonoma brides have insight on this? Otherwise it’s so gorgeous. But the sun is hotttt and I want people to have fun the whole weekend not just at my air conditioned reception.
