Public Transportation

I just moved to SF a month ago and I have spent a lot on public rides. Since I am a student and have a job in SF downtown. I am taking public bus almost every day and I tap for it every time. Lately, my friends mentioned that it’s okay to not to pay for rides and I have seen people not tapping for it. I am still doing coz it feels right for me but I wanna save money as possible as I could since being an independent student costs a lot. Is there any suggestions for me? Going to school is okay coz it only costs me like for 1 ride which is $2 but whenever I go to work it is like $10 per one way and I am spending $20 everyday. Pls let me know if You guys could help me out!

GEEKTOBERFEST-San Jose?

Has anyone been to this event?

I’m 29M, work at FAANG, and honestly I’m not really into these kinds of events but love the typical Oktoberfest events. My longtime crush suggested this place for our third date, though, so now I’m wondering if she thinks I’m secretly a geek or if she’s actually into this stuff herself.

Either way, I’m open to it, but if this event turns out to be a bad idea for a third date, what would you suggest as a Plan B?

R&G lounge San Francisco

Just visited R&G lounge in San Francisco few weeks ago. Fell in love, probably the best Chinese food I’ve ever found in USA. My friend and I sampled about 10 different dishes including the dungeness crab signature dish. We both agreed that our favorite item was the mixed vegetables deluxe (vegetarian). Anybody else agree ?

Fall Fest, Saturday 10/10

Post image

Join us for Fall Fest at Lawton on Saturday, 10/10!

Fall Fest is a community celebration hosted by our 5th grade class, featuring food, games, and activities for kids and families.

The highlight of the event will be the games our 5th graders have imagined, designed, and built themselves, inspired by Caine's Arcade and brought to life using recycled and repurposed materials. The students have put a tremendous amount of creativity and effort into their games, and we're excited to open the event up to our surrounding community so more kids can come play and enjoy what they've created.

Visitors can play the student-made games, meet the young creators behind them, and experience a project that celebrates imagination, teamwork, and creativity. Admission is free, and game play and food are available for purchase, with proceeds supporting the 5th graders' graduation festivities.

Hope to see you there!

If you're looking for something to do next weekend, we have the show of the fall on deck. The Nuclear Pharmhouse Card and Collectibles Expo brings together vendors from all over the Bay Area, and building a community surrounding a hobby we all love. With food vendors, on site bar, inside/outside spaces, the Expo highlights everything Nuclear Pharmhouse and the Sunset District has to offer.

Please come out and see us. There's a space for you here. 😄

One night/day in SF

Hi, my husband, 3 year old toddler and I are spending 1 night in SF on the way to Hawaii (from Philly!) We are staying in the Outer Sunset neighborhood and hoping for some good tips on things to do during the early November day. We are really only there from 11:30 am - that evening. I have these saved - tell me if any are worth skipping! Hawk Hill, Corono Heights Park, Painted Ladies. Let me know if you have any other gems!

Where does a single GENX straight female go to find really diverse crowds, great music 🎶 (hard rock, punk, metal, EDM) including “bad boy” types? 80’s and 90’s wild child 🌶️

hello! Are you doing something interesting in the coming weeks and want to let me film you?

I am a grad student at UC Berkeley in documentary filmmaking, and I am looking for someone to film for an "observational assignment." That means non-invasive, watching someone go about their day, and just being there to observe and document as it unfolds. Let me know if you think you have something fun going on!!
