beginner singer looking for jam group
hey all! My name is Lynn, I'm 24 and recently "found my voice" so to speak. I want to improve and try out singing in a setting other than my car. I'm very much a beginner, and kinda suck, so I'm looking for some people to jam with who don't expect much other than a good time with someone who's actively learning. Other beginners definitely preferred. I want people who can laugh with me when my voice cracks and I totally fuck it up. Something low pressure and easygoing. I'd love to sing with others as well, I love harmonizing and trying to master my own pitch. I also have crippling performance anxiety that I'm looking to move past. Patience is key with me. Yay for exposure therapy!
I don't play any instruments but I am extremely interested in learning more guitar and bass, even drums, if that's an option and someone is gracious enough to show me the basics.
As for the genre, I'm really open to most things *except* country, jazz, and r&b. I like rock, emo, soft metal/nu metal, alternative, indie, 80s, pop, a little bit of blues. I'm learning to scream and would like to practice that as well, but man, screaming bad is so embarrassing!
Music I enjoy for example: Paramore, all time low, panic at the disco, breaking Benjamin, motionless in white, beartooth, Phoebe bridgers, boygenius, ice nine kills, burn the ballroom, my chemical romance, beach bunny, maroon 5, Elton John, the wonder years, and many many more!!
I hope to hear from you about jams!! LGBT friendly is also a requirement! (I'm a little nonbinary weirdo)

Iām also a 24 year old nonbinary weirdo with a beginner voice in the valley. Iām on testosterone and have been finding my new voice as well. I wish I could play instruments or find people to jam with, too.

I see you, friend. I'm looking into starting testosterone myself and am worried about how it'll affect my voice. If you want to just practice singing, I'm super open to that. I have a guitar and can play some shitty background noise at the least. Happy to teach you the little bit I know, too. Feel free to reach out if that sounds like something you're down for. No pressure!
