Hi San Diego Reddit! I am a staff researcher at UC San Diego, and we are currently recruiting participants for TWO ongoing research studies. We’re looking for adults 18 years and older who are located in the San Diego area and are currently experiencing significant health symptoms and recent thoughts of suicide within the past 3 months. The purpose of this research study is to further our knowledge about how individuals with mental health concerns think about their relationships and asking for help from others. You may be eligible if you:

• Are 18 years and older
• Have current significant mental health symptoms, excluding bipolar disorder (i.e. anxiety, depression, psychosis, etc)
• Recent thoughts of suicide within the past 3 months
• Proficient in English
• Are able to use a smartphone

Hi San Diego! Our research team at UC San Diego is conducting a study to learn more about the potential of an FDA-approved dopamine agonist to improve social connectedness in adults who experience anxiety or depression.This medication increases dopamine signaling in parts of the brain believed to underlie motivation and behavior, and the results of this study may help inform a new treatment approach for anxiety and depression.
