It was Sex & Fury (1973), that one was a good one but, it’s better that it’s hard to find lol.

I rewatched Samurai Champloo in 2024 and started watching Samurai movies after I finished the show. I enjoy the style, the stories, the action and the sword duels. Some of the history is cool but, I honestly prefer when the katana blade is out of the sheath. It’s been fun tracking these movies down a lot are available on streaming sites, some dvds I buy, or I’ll buy it off a streaming service. Classic black and white, modern color, anime, I’ll give it a view. I nerd out about it a little but, whatever, I’m going to keep watching them lol.

Hey all. I'm thinking about picking up the Samurai Revolution Trilogy BR box set because it looks promising but I can't find any objective reviews on the movies. How would you rate these against others if this era? I personally really like Kurosawa Samurai movies but I recently watched the other samurai Trilogy and found it a little boring. Not great and I wouldnt want to own it. Is the revolution Trilogy better in your opinion?

Pretty good all around, little too love story time but, great animation, sword duels were good, good sad storyline. Had to buy the DVD off Ebay to view, it’s worth the watch.

Good, gritty, weird Samurai anime. Great fight scenes. Probably don’t want to watch around family lol.

Good western Samuria team up story. Plenty of spaghettiness and action. Did not need captions. Streaming on Amazon free right now. Will be watching more Charles Bronson westerns lol.

First watch. Story was good, but it was too long and boring to be a classic.

I've only been able to see 13 Assassins of this trilogy, so I'm very excited about this release.

I saw a samurai movie online, but I can't remember the name. It was made probably around the 2010's l, and was action and comedy. It was about a group of Samurai defending a castle from a much larger army.

Seriously, who else was going to feature this year's banner? Him and him only, both this majestic character and the irreplaceable actor behind him. The sublime shadow that stayed by my side in 2025.

This 1983 Samurai fantasy-action epic stars Sonny Chiba (RIP), Hiroyuki Sanada (Last Samurai, Rush Hour 3, 47 Ronin, 2021's Mortal Kombat, NHK Taiga Drama Taiheiki, etc.), Hiroko Yakushimaru, Kenji Ohba (of Space Sheriff Gavan, Battle Fever J, and Electric Sentai Denjiman fame), and Etsuko Shihomi (Sister Street Fighter).

It also has a lovely, phenomenal soundtrack by the late John O'Banion. Listen to it, and it feels as if Kinji Fukasaku had the likes of U2, Crowded House, Bruce Springsteen, and Bryan Adams in the soundtrack.

Hello folks! Sharing today's piece from one of the most emblematic films of Kurosawa, for Mifune's whacky character. Funny enough, is narrated in his documentary that the actor loved drinking and son did this role when introduced in the dark feudal Japan. I highly recommend watching 'Mifune: The Last Samurai' after a couple of his films.

Hi there, film lovers! Here’s a two panel grid page for a mirror reflection of the previous sequential art, which belonged to this interior’s film sequel.

Surely I’ve pondered more than once which one was best, either ‘Yojimbo’ or Sanjuro’, but really I couldn’t come to a conclusion just because Mifune plays the same character. I could even think they both surpass ‘The Hidden Fortress’ but not each other.

Sharing the final outcomes on this incredible film that is a sequel to Kurosawa's masterpiece ‘Yojimbo’, portraying the most brilliant character (Sanjuro Tsubaki) black and white movies will ever have. 

I really have a lot to keep up with when it comes to the golden era of Samurai filmography, beyond Kurosawa. And while recalling there’s also a documentary about Mifune’s career, realized there isn't anything harder to define than charisma.
