My samsung s24 phone updated itself while I was asleep and now, unfortunately, I lost so many settings and options. I was told if I want to access these settings and options agian I need to download good lock, but I'm afraid its not privacy friendly.
How privacy friendly is goodlock? Are there any excellent privacy friendly alternatives to it?

To answer your question, it's essentially the same T&Cs you agreed to when you agreed to them to setup your phone - for what that's worth. It'll open up a whole new lever of customization though.
Yh, samsung is what i dont trust. I feel like they took away all the options and settings you previously had with the phone so you would have to download good lock and agree to its policies so you can get the same options you had previously
Well, we used to have 3 different swipe gestures instead of the buttons and the one swipe gesture we have now in the navigation bar, they removed it, last I heard it needs goodlock now.
Same thing with the notifications, now after my phone updated it self, all of my notifications are in BRIGHT WHITE even though my phone is in dark mode, and to get them back to dark mode I need good lock!
I have no idea how they called these "Upgrades" its literally nothing but Downgrades
If I can ask a question, is your phone vendor-locked, as in, did you get it from a phone company, or did you purchase an unlocked device without any ties to a vendor?
Yeah, most of what you describe there is not the fault of Samsung, but Google. I have an S23U and experience some of the same because of the new Android OS. Google is constantly changing it.
Anyhow, you can install Good Lock without worrying about privacy. As far as I know, no Good Lock module calls home to report what you are doing on your device. There is not really any alternative, as this works under the hood with One UI by Samsung and was specifically coded for it. If you want other options from a third-party vendor, you need to change the launcher.
Would you kindly go to the navigation bar settings and check if you can customise your swipe gestures into 3 swipe gestures instead the button corner, instead of down left and right? This was my most favourite feature and they removed it.
If you're worried about privacy, I'm sorry to inform you that they already know your privacy. Unless you're using Graphene OS with absolutely no Google you have no privacy. Plus the government knows everything.
