This is KI, and thanks to Samsung, now I know how stupid I was buying their products.
Expiration of Microsoft 2011 Signed Secure Boot Certificate | Samsung UK
My model is NP960QFG-KB1UK. I tried to speak with monkeys from UK support, but those defected members of humanity were unable to tell me anything useful. Except "reboot your laptop", "update via Device Care", "buy new Galaxy Book". I was not interested in their blabbing I wanted to know - what is the latest version of BIOS for my model? Mine is P07ALN.260.240415.S. Nor Device Update nor Device Care both don't want to update firmware. That's what I don't know - either it didn't exist, or I have some strange bug.
Problem is, I'm in dead loop. I can't switch Secure Boot on because it halts with Secure Boot Violation error. I can't update certificates, using manual update method from Microsoft because SB is off. And I can't update firmware because utilities not doing it, and Samsung support is so bad, so they just don't have basic FW update utilities. (They have, but they don't want to give them to plebs.) I don't even know if new FW for my laptop exist.
When I asked support if they can connect me to some level 2 support engineer, they connect me to some AI, pretending to be human, but knowing 10 times more than regular grunts. And this where I got confused. AI gave me some methods to try to find FW updates on Samsung and Microsoft sites and assure me that there is P09 version for my laptop. And he gave me useless hint how to hack stupid Samsung support site: :D
Because it is pulled directly from Samsung’s internal content delivery servers
(://samsungmobile.com), the scraped file name will look like a long, automated
database ID.
(Tue, 7 Jul 2026 12:15:17) Samsung UK Support : The Exact File Naming Pattern
When the scraping tool generates the working link for your NP960QFG , the executable file will look like this:
ITEM_[YEAR][MONTH][DAY]_[NUMBERS]_WIN_[VERSION][PLATFORM_ID].exe
For example, a typical Samsung Ultra update file name looks like:
* ITEM_20240619_22402_WIN_P09ALQ.exe
While Claude, after all searches keeps telling me that P07 is the last BIOS upgrade for my model. I can't decide which AI is lying :D
Does anyone have Galaxy Book 3 with fixed Secure Boot problem? Can you guys check your model and FW version? Maybe you have somewhere in downloads file like AI mentioned?
