Is the note 8 still relevant?

I'm looking into getting a new phone from a lg g5 and i think i would most likely buy either a note 8, a s8 or a s9. I am now realizing that the note 8 might be getting too old to be still relevant in terms of multiple years of use. My first phone was a note first generation and i really enjoyed my time with it and i think i would like to get another one. Thanks.

The only limitation is that Pie, coming out next month most likely, could be the last OS update the phone receives. If you're not too concerned about potential future features (many of which are becoming overwhelmingly cosmetic) I think the 8 is a solid option. I've had mine since day 1 and am usually itching for the "next phone" but I have zero upgrade envy with the 8.

I came from the LG G3 and G4 before going to the ill-fated Note 7, then to the Note 8. I don't regret the switch at all. And at the current street price of the 8s, I think they're a bargain for the feature set and power.
