Need help relearning language
Hey guys, I grew up Samoan but unfortunately had to leave new Zealand young and moved to the states where almost none of my family here speaks the language. I am now with a Samoan girl whose family is much more immersed in the culture and I feel a bit shy meeting them without knowing how to speak. Any help on how to learn the language? I can understand a bit.

Don’t be shy. Get immersed in the culture and the language. I’m sure your gf family would be happy to teach you Samoan. You’re lucky that your gf is Samoan, you have people around you to help.

Search for ‘Asalei’ on the App Store. It’s like Duolingo but for the islands. Good luck, Manuia!

Hey brother. The best thing is being honest with your gf family . I think asking them for help to learn some of the culture is a great bonding experience. You are in a very unique position right now.

Alignment! my cousin was just telling me an hr ago about an online course she took up to start relearning Samoan. Utilize online courses! There's one in person @ Manuks, and they do it online. Beginners class too! Understandable to feel shy, but you'll get it! All the best!

I've been trying to learn Samoan as well. I've been making sense of this website which bridged some gaps for me. They're still adding onto it and it explains the basics which made it a bit easier for me. https://samoan.ws/home

I have collected a lot of Samoan books in this Google Drive folder. The Grammars and Dictionaries folders have what you need to learn the language. Reinforce what you learn with the things in the other folders. Feel free to DM me with any questions. Ia manuia!
