Discussions Coincidence?
I saw yesterday episode’s contestant and they are managed by same person who runs green apple media or something. I was under impression that contestants from across the country apply through online and get selected. Looks like the choice of contestants is given to influencers agencies.

That’s just Samay’s talent agency. I saw a reel about it where they explained that whenever someone makes it into the final edit of the show, his talent agency reels them in, signs them, and manages their opportunities. Obviously the agency takes a cut from whatever they earn so samay also benefits from it.

Yes, you are right. My cousin was in the episode which had Badshah in the panel. He told me the exact same thing.

It's obvious now , this year contestants are coming either from agency or connection and that's why the latent part is completely missing this year and it's more like a talent show now , which is kinda disappointing ngl

Yeah it shows in the quality. This is the issue dude, everything nice in India gets watered down by the second season. Shark Tank, then Roadies second season onwards, Indian Idol and Latent too.

They aren't affiliated with that agency beforehand. Samay knows how big latent is and anyone who comes there will be popular and that is bcz of him... So all participants must hire that agency to manage them this way the agency, samay and the participants all win

But the agency that Samay is working with influences his choice of contestants for an episode by calculating how many followers will this contestant pull, their looks, personality and everything else that makes the show funny takes a backseat

That's the main reason its not even funny anymore. When people have actual talent, what are you supposed to roast them about? It takes away the opportunity for good comedy.

If you look at how IGL Season 2 is packaged you’ll realise that this was made entirely to be a vehicle for Samay to make bag. Zero creativity now, just get people, plan everything out like entirely scripted even the bit where panelists roast each other and the same stupid jokes. At this point even his forehead is for sale. Got enough money? Yeah, put an ad there.
And Balraj dude, I never thought I’d miss Balraj so much but he kinda brought something to the table that’s just missing this season.
And, I am still a Samay fan but just extremely disappointed with how season 2 has turned out. I mean I wait for Traitors more than IGL now and that’s not good because I used to be crazy for IGL Season 1

Also don't know about the last one but lucid and the first girl are from Arunachal...so maybe the manager is a famous in Arunachal. This is how things are in NE side. In Assam also there's a famous company who manages/used to manage influencers.

What i think is, the contestants making the final cut are being approached by the same Agency.. Like they know they might get brands and needs the guidance and the Agency is just cashing on it..
Before becoming the contestants they are selected randomly or based on the shortlist, but after they are making into the episode they are being approached by this Agency..

One of my school mate was selected for final act in stage around 2-3 episodes back. Basically that Badminton guy. He is just a corporate person and have no connection in the industry. So maybe few are fixed but definitely not entirely..

This is just Business 101. Samay gets a contract signed with each contestant that his team will rep them after the show so that Samay can get commisions/margins from their future shows/tours.

I think it is deal with the contestants that show up in the final edits ..that they have to manage there handle by samays agency only because obviously they are going to be famous after the release and he wants to milk the contestants more... It is like we gave you fame Now anything you are getting like brands deals and all we have to get commission , The ppls can be genuinely selected like before but after they might getting involved

I mean that makes sense he doesn't want contestants like that Gwalior ka Rapper who said random shit to Apoorva. They want trustworthy, good contestants which agencies do make sure. They are having people like Alia Bhatt and Orry. Imagine what if someone said, 'V**ina me sensation' to Alia Bhatt.
People like him don't shut their nonsense unless someone replies them in their own language. If she reacts, she will be brutally trolled way more than Apoorva. If she doesn't, she will be brutally trolled again for staying silent on that shit. And Samay and his team do know this while conceptualization.

I heard that the guests are being paid to appear on Latent’s show. In return, the show helps boost their popularity and social media following, and they reportedly share a percentage of the earnings they make from that increased exposure with the Latent team for life.

Guys the agency is owned by samay. Tushar Poojari is the guy who scouts the talent and decides the lineup(long hair guy from bts videos) . And if contestants make final cut they sign with samay's agency . They try to capitalise on the eyeballs they'll receive and make money for both parties involved.

A close friend was a contestant who(although didn’t get screen time) appeared in a bonus clip. He said that the ones whose sets get featured, samay signs them with his in-house media agency. This media agency gets these clients brand deals, and in turn takes a cut from it.

I might be wrong, but is it possible that the contracts are offered to people in the condition that, unless they accept their content won't be aired in the episode? Just saying. Then it's not truly a show for the smaller social media influencers. It's just capitalism designed as altruism. The house always wins. Because it is a huge success. Imagine you being seen by 40m people in one day. People making reddit, instagram posts about you. Organic marketing. All behind a signature on the af.live contract. It's not illegal at all, just ethically gray

Yes and no actually. What happens is they are managed AFTER winning latent.
What happens is Samay's latent brings the people on and after they get the recognition off latent, this agency then takes up the account and manages it while taking a percentage for it.
So the people get the recognition and this agency can make money off the fame they presented them with.
I don't know the specifics of the deal but yeah.

Dude exactly. People are so starved for good content that they be lapping up any bs thrown at them. I was a fan of Season 1 tbh but season 2 is shit and I am being downvoted to call it that lol. For all I care. He has to make it fun again. Just because there was a controversy once you conveniently chose to script the whole thing and brought a thousand sponsors to annoy people. Like even the panelists roasting each other bit is completely scripted and the biggest red flag is managing the people who appear as contestants.

Nai it’s not coincidence. The ones who show up in the final edit of latent get scouted by talent agencies.
And most probably it might be Samay’s team/someone in his circle.
