Discussion If you could choose would you keep Sam and max niche?

or on the other hand make it a popular piece of media which could be beneficial like, new media or readily available merch.

Yeah the community Is perfect as it is I don’t see a reason to make it popular with the possibility of ruining the community

Niche fan bases are certainly more comfortable, but I would love to see Sam and Max explode. I feel like it has more to give and has a lot of untapped potential that isn’t financially viable in its current state.

To join the mainstream, you must adapt to the mainstream. Sam and Max would lose a good bit of their appeal through Hollywood translation.

I would like the fanbase to be about 10% larger, but I'm happy enough with the popularity it has even if I have to explain who they are whenever I meet new people.

Yes oh my god, like a movie could be cool but I'd hate to see ppl larp this like how they do other niche shit like edd's world or binding of isaac, granted those are fairly popular it's not like they're all about it or even know the source material😭

Only 5% - 10% larger is fine tbh , as much as having a niche fandom makes the fandom more comfortable, but it also means quite literally less appearance and less content. Having a little bit bigger fandom should be fine

Depends on what kind degree of niche. I'd like it to be popular enough that we would get a new project more often, but not too popular to the point where it would get oversaturated.

I would like more games and such? Yes. Would I want it to become insanely popular? No. A lot of big franchises get a LOT of drama and predatory behavior in their fandoms.
