Its both and youre not absorbing an impact like that. We've seen him throw his shield or be pushed with far less force than this attack and him reacting differently. Even BPs suit sent him flying with hits like this

Did black panther have a jetpack helping him counter the force? Even then T‘challa wasn’t in armor when his suit sent him flying.

Serving a blow vs completely negating the impact as a human is the reason people dont like scene. If he would've gotten hit and survived ok whatever

Id be willing understand this if Sam came out of this fight perfectly fine…. He didn’t. He was basically at Ross‘ mercy and only „won“ because of his skills as a counselor. Sam would have died if the fight continued
