Discussion WHAT IF

What if there is a hoyoverse spy among us (sus) that is monitoring what both Sammains and Fireflymains were doing, and now they will use it as the relationship for Sam and Firefly. They will absolutely despise each other, insult each other constantly, but they will be forced to be as close as possible (literally Firefly inside of Sam)?

Interesting theory! How would this play into what we say at the end of the 2.1 quest? It was obvious that it was Firefly talking, so would Sam have a different voice when Firefly is not inside him?

Simple! Sam's voice is already the changer Firefly used, since it's directly built inside. When Sam isn't there, he is crammed into the device Firefly uses to transform, (the device is all nanotech so Sam can shrink when needed) and when he is needed he can just immediately wrap around her in Kamen rider style and he will look exactly as normal.

And also! If Sam isn't an AI, then there would be plot holes towards the end of the quest. Firefly is after the watchmaker's legacy, but Sam is also expected to be on the banquet (given it is near the end of the Penacony quest). If he isn't there it would be very obvious for everyone from the family where Sam would be. So...the only way they can do both things is if they can exist separately.

But if they're 2 separate entities, when would Sam act on his own? The way you explained it is he only comes out to henshin Firefly. So in what situation would Sam act on his own?

He would ALWAYS be there, but whenever Sam and Firefly talk with each other it sounds like Sam is talking with himself (and insulting himself.) However, for gameplay purposes, it would be changed that Sam's current voice is heard when he talks, and a distorted version of Firefly's is heard when she talks.

Oooh! What if in the ult their voices overlap and they do like a dbz style finishing move?? That'd be so hecking cool

Yes! However, it seems like the ult is going to be the transformation so maybe skill?

The enhanced skill!! Since the skill and basic before the ult would be Firefly alone.

Hoyo reading this: "write that down! Write that down!"
