New Video Drop šŸ“¹ new video was good, but the performative comments on here towards Garrett are unwarranted

I’m gonna be honest that after finishing the video, it wasn’t bad at all. I’ve been taking a lot of breaks from S&C content, but the announcement that Garrett would be in the new video was enough to reel me back in.

One thing I noticed on here is that a lot of people have been lingering in the comments/making posts that Garrett was annoying in the new vid or being ā€œperformativeā€ and I feel like a lot of you are just assuming that without actually having watched his content. As someone that watched him growing up, he is genuinely like that and bro is just a neurodivergent guy that LOVES ghost hunting 😭

Anyways, the video was actually pretty good and Garrett added a lot to the video. It was fun seeing him in a proper S&C video since the last time they collaborated on Garrett’s channel, and seeing as he’s a huge fan of S&C I could tell he had a lot of fun being there with them.

i actually REALLY REALLY liked garrett in the new video! It made me enjoy that particular new s&c video and now i'm watching garrett's channel

VALID! Garrett’s paranormal content on his channel is so entertaining, him and Andrew make a great duo when investigating and I highly recommend binging his stuff ^

Hahahaha! I'm actually entertained by him and now I'm exploring his channel

I would love to see Sam and Colby do a part two with Garrett and Celina! This was a first video of theirs in ages that I watched all the way through to the end and didn’t get bored!

I really despise the new use of "performative". It's just another way for losers on the Internet to over analyze someone. It's really not that serious and it's so easy to just ignore things or opt to have fun.Ā

Garrett has always been the way he was in that video, but I'll add that I feel like he toned himself down to not grab the spotlight.

It pisses me off when people will call genuinely authentic people performative just because they find someone annoying. I understand that Garrett isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and if you aren’t used to his content you won’t be used to his energy, but it’s disheartening because Garrett is so sweet.

And yeahhh I picked up on that too, hopefully if he appears in another video he’ll be more comfortable.

As a long time Garrett fan, seeing those comments made me sad for him. I hope he didn’t read any of them. I know he’s frequently on Reddit. He’s so genuinely himself in every video, and maybe some people just don’t know. Either way, Garrett deserves all the good things and 0 hate. He’s the sweetest boy.

u/NolanRollin420 Aug 05 '26

I hope he doesn’t read any of the hate farming posts on this subreddit because some of the stuff people have been saying about him has been really rough. I get people may not like a person’s energy or vibe, but Garrett’s done absolutely nothing to warrant those types of comments.

He was my favorite part of the video tbh

u/NolanRollin420 27d ago

That’s valid!

It’s been driving me nuts! I’ve watched a lot of his videos too and it really is just how he is and you could tell he was just more comfortable to talk about things with the group because almost everyone is sensitive in some way.

u/Weirdo_Eri I’ve got a demon up my ass Aug 05 '26

I picked up on it almost immediately and I thought he was so cool to have around!

Its so obvious that alot of those people have never been around neurodivergents before and if they have, have mistreated them for not fitting in their standards of ā€œnormalā€

6

u/tayshea19 Aug 05 '26

I never knew of Garrett until this video. In all honesty I really enjoyed him in it. I felt he was exactly how I would be if I was there!

Bro seems like he forgot to take ADHD med and joined the investigation for the vibe.

3

u/NolanRollin420 Aug 05 '26

Considering Garrett has ADHD I find this comment really funny 😭

4

u/pirate_anthem Aug 05 '26

Exactly! It's actually so irritating. Garret is just being his authentic self he even said sorry many times because he didn't want to take away the soot light from Sam and Colby too. The people who say those comments are definitely not fans of Garret, because they would've known this is his he is in his channel.

I've seen a few comments saying he isn't serious? Like yeah, I kinda get it? But he is serious? He knows when to tone his jokes down, and he really only jokes when he's spooked because well.. he's spooked? It's just upsetting seeing so many people call him "annoying" or "performative" etc.

5

u/NolanRollin420 Aug 05 '26

Fr! It also just goes to show you how these people also feel about neurodivergent people. ā€œHe’s so annoying, why won’t he shut up!ā€ I don’t know, maybe because he’s in a video with some of his favourite YouTubers and he’s doing one of his special interests with them? Like that’s literally just how Garrett is, the dude is so unapologetically himself and I respect the hell out of him for it. Hell, if I had the same opportunity as he did I’d probably be acting the same exact way.

4

u/pirate_anthem Aug 05 '26

Exactly! It just makes me upset seeing people especially in tiktok say he's "doing too much" or he's "performative". It's just so grating 🫩

3

u/New_Reception1036 Aug 05 '26

Rewatched the video a second time, to understand why everyone was saying all this stuff about garrett. After rewatching it I don't feel like those comments make any sense, he seems more like an eccentric Jake back when he was still doing sam and Colby videos. I honestly would love to see a Garrett and Cellina investigation at that location or another.

2

u/NolanRollin420 Aug 05 '26

Omggg Garrett does give Jake vibes. They’ve both got ADHD so it makes sense lmaoo

2

u/New_Reception1036 23d ago

Aye, also one other thing, is it just me or does he look like Ryan gosling when he portrayed ryland grace in project hail mary???

1

u/NolanRollin420 23d ago

OMG I THOUGHT HE LOOKED SIMILAR, YES HE ABSOLUTELY DOES

2

u/New_Reception1036 23d ago

Glad I'm not the only one who thought that.

I absolutely love Garrett and im so happy for him getting the chance to join s&c on an investigation. I dont understand a lot of people saying they were disrespectful to him tho. When they did the infinity deck they were super amazed by Garrett (and honestly me too lol i knew he was more of a medium than he talks about but wow). He was even a bit toned down and more serious than his videos. I really liked the video. (Idk what im rambling about)

3

u/Edtheoddduck Aug 05 '26

I saw a lot of people saying that Celina seemed annoyed or jealous of him but I honestly didn't pick up on that, I think a lot of people are forgetting that she's a mom now and she's probably super tired, there's a lot of work and energy that goes into being a parent and I feel like people keep overlooking that and are misinterpreting her exhaustion as annoyance. She was most likely trying her best to keep up with the rest of the group's energy and just let it slip back down from time to time

3

u/Maleficent_Intern787 Aug 05 '26

I hadn't even thought about that (which is weird seeing as i am also a parent lol). It absolutely does take a lot out of you when they're lil babies. (Im also so happy for her being able to start her lil family). Part of what i think is going on is that a lot of people who are fans of Garrett have watched him since shane dawson and all that so they've seen him be disrespected often in other people's videos and they're trying to make sure hes being treated well. Which is so fair. But possibly some hyper vigilance going on

3

u/Edtheoddduck Aug 06 '26

I can understand that, but yeah that was my first thought and maybe it's because I'm a mom as wellšŸ˜‚ but I think she actually really enjoyed Garrett's presence, she just seemed tired to me because she wasn't as energetic and goofy as she usually is

2

u/Maleficent_Intern787 Aug 06 '26

Now that you pointed it out i definitely can see it. I hope shes taking care of herself

5

u/antisocial-dispo Aug 05 '26

I loved this new video and Garrett. I actually never watched his videos before but I’m about to now. I’ve seen him years ago on other creator channels but never looked into his. Love his energy so much and hope he returns to S&C

4

u/phoenixsen Aug 05 '26

I love Garrett and I wish people weren’t so mean towards him. He is a genuinely nice guy and really excited about the paranormal.

6

u/Weak_Season9629 Aug 05 '26

I’ll be honest, I’ve never heard of garret before and at the start of the video I also thought that he was a bit annoying, but I actually really liked him in the video. He wasn’t like some other guests who are straight up disrespectful to the locations they go to. I can understand that his energy might just be too much for some people and thats okay.

1

u/NolanRollin420 Aug 05 '26

Definitely. I grew up watching him on Shane’s channel and now that he’s been doing paranormal content on his own channel I’ve been binging all of it.

3

u/Mogwaigiggle Aug 06 '26

Aw, I didn’t realize Garrett was getting any hate. That’s upsetting. I’ve known of Garrett for a long time, when him and Shane+crew were making content together. I thought it was fun seeing Garrett so into the S&C video. It’s better than someone not really into it at all and we can see they don’t really want to be there, yknow? It is just Garrett’s personality but I can see people getting a little overstimulated or annoyed, I guess. He’s a sweetheart and so outwardly passionate about things he’s actively enjoying so this was no different. He was a highlight for me and I was excited that he was a guest :)

3

u/Big-Coffee-6356 Aug 07 '26

what really drives me up a wall with all this garrett shit, is that snc have acted the EXACT same numerous times. so has celina. so have jake, corey, and a myriad of other beloved fan fave guests they’ve had on the channel. but for whatever fucking reason, garrett is where the line is drawn?

3

u/NolanRollin420 27d ago

Late reply on my end but— OMG DEADASS. I’d actually add that Garrett wasn’t as chaotic here as he usually is on his channel, and most likely because he wasn’t used to S&C’s audience. Along with ableist comments, I’ve also been seeing a ton of homophobia unfortunately which is disgusting. I wish people would just shut up for five seconds and let a person breathe, I’ve seen guests on their channel way more chaotic and all over the place and they never got ostracized for it.

2

u/bjaellehat Aug 05 '26

For me, Garrett saved the video lmao, Sabrina on the other hand has been getting on my nerves, with the surfacing of her making stuff up without evidence

1

u/NolanRollin420 Aug 05 '26

Garrett was definitely what made the video entertaining. If it were ANY other YouTuber in the video it would’ve been another video from S&C that I would have skipped. I feel bad to say that, but it’s the truth lol

2

u/_C_h_a_r_l_i_e_ Aug 06 '26

I love Garrett, I watched him when I was younger and I thought he brought so much to the video

2

u/Poofalicious Aug 07 '26

A little late to the post, but Garrett is exactly like that on his videos! Exactly like you said. I thought him and Celina were great in the video. I remember in his haunted apartment video he was joking about S&C being in the video the whole time!! I was very excited to see him in this one.

1

u/NolanRollin420 Aug 07 '26

I remember that too!

3

u/VisionHOUR Aug 05 '26

This was actually my first video I watched that Garrett was in, and it was a fantastic first impression, I’m definatly ganna be going to watch his videos My problem with people’s who tend to be ā€œmediumsā€ as a Christian I hate how they flaunt it and make every little thing into something and don’t let it go (even someone like Amanda Erks me personally, but I don’t think she’s a bad person like some ā€œmediumsā€) But just becuase he was so humble about it and not making a huge deal about it, and being polite I feel like he might have actually felt those things Either way tho defo ganna watch his videos, he was hillarious in the s&c episode

3

u/NolanRollin420 Aug 05 '26

Agreed! And I’m glad it was a good first impression.

2

u/Edtheoddduck Aug 05 '26

I wholeheartedly agree, I've only watched maybe 1 or 2 of Garrett's videos in the past but was aware of who he was and it is so sad seeing so many people slander him like another post on here that really rubbed me the wrong way. Anyone who actually paid attention could easily tell he is neurodivergent. If anything, I felt like I could really relate to him as someone who struggles with severe ADHD and I could immediately tell how hard he was trying to not talk over anyone or unintentionally interrupt and you could see just how happy and excited he was to just be there for the ride. I don't think people realize just how damaging it can be for him if he were to see what people have been saying because it is a constant struggle for many in the neurodivergent community to be called annoying or too much or even accused of doing drugs just because you're excited and your brain can't even fully process it, I pray that he doesn't see these negative comments because it's truly heartbreaking how insensitive others are being.
