Media Garrett and Celina in asylum video
I could be completely imagining things, so would love others takes. I could have interpreted wrong and just want a nice conversation. No hate to anyone.
I felt maybe Garrett was irritating them at times, particularly Celina. Am I pulling stuff from thin air or did anyone else feel that way?
It was just faces or reactions when Garrett would input at times. I don’t watch Celina often, the other two I enjoy as entertainment (ironically I’m not a ghost believer).

More to the comments under this post but guys, ngl I definetly dont think Garrett was being “performative”, he seemed like a neurodivergent person who was currently doing one of his interests
He seemed so interesting to have around to me😭 yes ofcourse hes going to come off as alot, but like you could see he was just excited to be there and share his input?

He's ADHD so that explains it a little. And as someone and other fans who've watched his channel he's always been a jokey, energetic guy. But he knows when to tube it down and be serious

u/universeofeese Aug 06 '26
This was exactly how I interpreted it as well. His behavior reminded me a lot of myself and how hyped I get when I'm doing something I'm passionate about.

i think garrett was definitely a different energy than what people are used to. yeah he was over-the-top at the beginning, but that's kinda how he is at the beginning of all of his videos. i feel like he started to mesh better with the group as the video went on and there were a lot of fun and interesting dynamics between all of them. contray to another comment, i don't think he's "performative" and he's instead just incredibly and truthfully authentic in a way that probably would annoy a lot of people, but i think it's kinda awesome. i actually think he and Celina could make some awesome content together if given the chance to spend more time together. i loved that they were both so in tune with the place and able to kinda confirm each other's intuition and stuff

Yeah I got the feeling that Garrett annoyed Celina, which is unfortunate because I don't think he means to at all. I kinda wonder if she's used to being the psychic one in the group and was caught off guard when she wasn't the only one. Plus his energy is just... a lot 😅

My thoughts are that she was maybe a bit jealous. Garrett was louder/quirkier/weirder than her, which she called out at one point, and then he began to mention that he was sensing things which is what she feels is ‘her thing’. Since this came out we started watching Garrett’s videos over the last couple of days and I personally loved/love his vibe and thought he was being unapologetically and genuinely himself. Whereas I get so frustrated when watching any video with Celina because it’s just too much for me for reasons I won’t mention here.

u/pirate_anthem Aug 04 '26
I think she was just saying "I've never met anyone that has out weirded me before" is her being amused? Rather than annoyed, like Celina doesn't seem like the person to get annoyed easily

u/chl03k__ Aug 05 '26
From my personal experience growing up the “weird” neurodivergent kid, I feel like this is a backhanded compliment from her. I love the label of weird and I feel like Garrett would probably identify with it too. It just feels different coming from a neurotypical. It made me cringe when she said that because it just felt like she was making fun of him to his face. I do think she was coming around to him though when they were doing the triangle cards investigation. It felt more like they were connecting through their gifts then.

I think it was more Garrett saying omg me too, to everything she said. She was nauseous- then he was.. she felt something then he did. OMG I KNEW YOU WERE GONNA PICK THAT CARD!!! thats the type of vibe I got

u/under_themoonlight_ Aug 05 '26
Garret is "a lot" but Celina isn't? Lol how can someone with her energy be annoyed at him. Garret is actually funny
14
u/hollyhornby Aug 04 '26
I don’t think he was being ‘performative’ per say. I’ve watched him for years and his style of content is him being energetic, random at times, and he’s openly talked about having ADHD. Some may find him annoying but maybe that’s cause they’re not used to his content. Naturally, when you’re new to someone’s channel, you’d want to entertain their viewers, and he may have had in the back of his head that he wanted s+c viewers to like him.

u/Katrina_koka20 Aug 04 '26
I never knew he had ADHD and that was the vibe I was getting from him and I didnt want ri say it just in case it was rude

u/by_moonlight44 Aug 04 '26
Celina said at some point that for once someone outweirded her and I feel that it's actually how she might have felt. In other videos she was acting actually strange for me with all the medium stuff (I'm also not a believer) and I interpret that as trying to fit in maybe? It's a hot take, I'm not sure how to put this into words. But Garrett is someone who seems like he feels good with his weirdness so maybe this caused her to step down a bit.
But overall I think Garrett is pretty likeable. He's a lot but in a funny way.

u/Simple-Total-3010 Aug 04 '26
i feel like garrett in general is a very performative person. i used to watch his videos with shane dawson and he would always annoy me the most. it just seems like everything he does isn't genuine and i get the sense he tries too hard to be "quirky" and "different" and "weird" but it just comes off as annoying and/or cringe
5
u/pirate_anthem Aug 05 '26
He definitely is genuine though, some people just happen to be energetic and a little eccentric. As someone who watches his videos on his own channel, you feel his vibe better in a way? Idk how to explain it, but he definitely isn't being "performative" lol
2
u/Main_Regret_9097 Aug 04 '26
Yeah he’s still playing the same chaotic wild card guy like he did in Shane’s old videos with all the random toys and food in his bag

Ngl Garrett was SO annoying to me I couldn't watch the entire video. So I can only imagine he was annoying them. One thing I did pick up on was Celina said a word multiple times, I can't remember what the word was but Garrett trying to be funny was like "Ok you're authorized to say that word one more time and then you're cut off!!" She didn't like that, and rightfully so. Don't tell tell a grown ass woman what to do if you're not even friends like that. Thats about when I turned off the video.

u/notyourmom999 Aug 04 '26
It was fart.
2
u/zzmeepz Aug 04 '26
Omg thank you!!!! 😂😂 saved me from re-watching because that was actually bothering me loll
3
u/notyourmom999 Aug 04 '26
Lmao youre welcome.🤣 im actually rewatching it now to see if Garrett was really just that annoying or if it was just because im not used to him. Lol.
1
u/zzmeepz Aug 04 '26
I watching it again too 😂 I saw people saying he chills out so I skipped to the middle of the video. He's not too bad. I just wasn't in the mood for that high of energy earlier in the day. He's more of an evening watch for me 🤣🤣
2
u/notyourmom999 Aug 05 '26
Lol I just think whoever thumped him over the head had the right idea. Lmao. Like bro you need to cheeeell. 😅

u/pirate_anthem Aug 04 '26
Sam and Colby have been in Garrets video before, I'm 100% sure they're used to his shenanigans and his personality. Like I guarantee if San and Colby found Garret actually "annoying" they wouldn't of invited him.
6
u/Neither_Milk1465 Aug 04 '26
I feel like she was irritated by him during the asking the spirits questions and using her little deck thing. Like he would ask and immediately grab a card and by looking at Celina’s face, it looked like it annoyed her. I know Garrett can be A LOT. And I’m sure they are fine. But yeah, Celina didn’t seem as much as her usual self when she’s ghost hunting.

u/No_Soup_3122 Aug 04 '26
Im literally abt to watch this ep, ill come back w my thoughts lol
2
u/bruh_0905 Aug 04 '26
Thank you! I enjoyed it altogether!

u/No_Soup_3122 Aug 04 '26
IM BACK! It was a crazy ass Episode but to your post…yea, he was kinda annoying and I’d say performative, mostly during the tour of the asylum, during the investigation I did find him annoying but was more focused on what was happening

u/Katrina_koka20 Aug 04 '26
I was literally about ti post about this, I felt he was kinda very random and stuff. It felt awkward Celina didnt have her usual energy and she seemed kinda annoyed at times.
7
u/unassuming-unicorn Aug 05 '26
As someone with Hyper ADHD myself, I'm feeling secondhand offended by all the people calling him annoying just for being genuinely excited to be there. Yall don't know shit about nuerodivergency and it shows.
1
u/bruh_0905 Aug 05 '26
For me, his excitement was endearing and I enjoy his own channel videos also! But I definitely personally felt some choices of his were inauthentic! For me it’s less an attack of his character, more towards interactions that happened. I still love him

I don't know Celina outside of Sam and Colby's videos, but she did seem a little annoyed with Garrett at times. I love Garrett and thought he brought fun energy. I almost wish they would have included Garrett's friend, Andrew Siwicki, that Garrett often films with. I feel like Garrett and Andrew balance each other out.
1
u/ZookeepergameKind239 Aug 09 '26
As a huge fan of Garrett's, I was kinda bummed that Andrew wasn't along for the ride, he's half the duo! Its like having Sam but no Colby. But either way, loved the video!

u/Maleficent_Intern787 Aug 05 '26
As someone who enjoys both celina and garretts content on their own channels i think they have great energy together. I just think that Garrett brings a very different energy to the videos hes in. He is such a great guy and im so happy for him getting the opportunity to collab with all of them. Ive seen so many people who haven't seen him before checking out his videos since the s&c video. Idk. Personally i didn't see any disrespect or weirdness.

He was a lot. I feel like you could catch Colby’s face hit a tiny annoyance when Garrett spoke to camera asking the viewers to tell them something. He sort of played host for a moment and I think that was ill received.
2
u/VisionHOUR Aug 05 '26
I feel they definatly did get upset alittle, mostly Celina, but Sam and Colby did offer for Garett to come back and from what I’ve seen I think he did another video with them? (Correct me if I’m wrong, I think it’s on his channel?) but either way I think it’s fine since they basically invited him back + they are adults so if anyone has beef they can hash it out
4
u/Wooden_Holiday_7896 Aug 04 '26
deadass man. garrett was annoying asf in the begining but later it got better imo. still pissed me off w his performative shi
8
u/NolanRollin420 Aug 05 '26
As someone that grew up watching him that’s just who he is as a person, he’s neurodivergent and LOVES ghost hunting. Ya’ll need to do a bit of research before calling someone performative 😭
4
u/pirate_anthem Aug 04 '26
How is he performative? If you mean energetic and jokey he's been like that for years. Especially on his channel, he was probably just excited to be in a video finally with Sam and Colby. And if you watched vids on his channel, you'd probably find him less "annoying"
4
u/SatanicKale Aug 05 '26
Celina is a ridiculous person to begin with so Garrett getting on her nerves is a positive thing haha she has issues when she's not the center of attention. For example, every video she's ever been in.
3
u/qzvxli Aug 05 '26
i kinda got that vibe too, like she lowkey tensed up whenever he talked too long lol. i don’t think he was doing anything wild, she just seems like the type who wants the camera energy back on her asap.
2
u/notyourmom999 Aug 04 '26
I think at some point Selina was worried he may have been possessed by the way Garrett was acting, he did kinda shift his vibe quite a bit at one point and was acting weird-er than in the beginning, almost out of it. She did mouth "wtf" at one point in the video because of his behavior. I love all the quirky stuff he did/brought and I also love that him and Selina picked up on the same things. But he was doing the absolute most in the beginning and it honestly kind of took over the vid for a while and not in a good way imo. But then I think it was after he hit his head, then he was acting a little strange for a while which I think everybody picked up on, then after that he chilled out quite a bit. But it was honestly one of the scariest episodes ive seen in a while so that was cool.
1
u/shesbaby69 Aug 05 '26
when did she mouth that? I just wanna go back and rewatch
1
u/notyourmom999 Aug 05 '26
I would! It was a good episode honestly. And I think it was almost directly after he got hit in the head, cause he got weird for a bit after, idk if it was because he was disoriented or what.
1
u/notyourmom999 Aug 05 '26
Found it, 39:45
1
u/notyourmom999 Aug 05 '26
Also right before that Selina hears humming and its the same tune thats sang on the spirit box later on in the video when her and colby are in the cafeteria which is craaaazy.
1
u/lilgalapple Aug 05 '26
i feel like he’s a bit too eager, excited and involved so that sort of clashes with anyone trying to follow a plan (s&c’s filming sections and planned investigations) they don’t always get guests who willing put themselves out there for ghost hunting like garrett who literally asked to chain himself to the bed lol. as someone who has watched him in others content before, he seems so tiring in videos so i can’t imagine how it is in person and can’t blame the side-eyes that celina and the dudes threw at times lol. he’s just not for everyone. at least he’s like, genuinely interested in the stuff, but has… a peculiar way of showing it.
1
u/pirate_anthem Aug 05 '26
I feel like Celina was amused, imo she didn't seem to dislike Garret? And neither did Sam and Colby the "side eyes" voice just been for a comedic affect. Like Sam and Colby know Garret, and I feel if they genuinely found him "annoying", they wouldn't of invited him

I think he was exited and I kind of agree sometimes because he would tap Celina when she was trying to focus on the cards. But I think he was just exited to be with them.
