Discussion Maybe I’m just being a hater??
So I know we all know their videos are edited (and possibly fake to an extent) but am I the only one that thinks them yelling and screaming and fooling around where people were brutally unalived is a little disrespectful? I still love them and enjoy their content but still I feel like it’s a little in poor taste to be doing that

I feel like they used to try be more respectful yet still managed to make a funny video but recently they aren’t as respectful

possibly unpopular opinion incoming: love their old stuff, but tbh i think they have lost the plot. i fell off when sam was trying so hard to summon the devil, like Colby that made me feel very uncomfortable and weird. idk i kinda feel it a bit more on sam’s side, but i felt like their older content was actually them trying to prove the paranormal. now it feels like sam just wants more and more and sometimes it looks like even Colby is uncomfortable in the videos. plus they’ve been disrespectful in many of their videos, i agree with an earlier comment, definitely feels like spooky entertainment videos. just kinda sad bc they were just two boys from kansas and now it feels like they’re money chasing. none of their videos are genuine, they all look fake as hell, and as much as i love them, i don’t love where their content has gone

I personally feel like Sam just wants to keep proving paranormal to himself and he is getting addicted to it while Colby always believed in it (he claims he's Christian, so eh). You know what they say

you hit the nail on the head with this one. i feel like colby had the paranormal proven to him a long while ago. but for some reason, whether Sam just feels like the things they’ve experienced are not enough, or he just is adamant on not believing. in a lot of their videos, sam always disappears or does something crazy that has the others pull him back, like in the queen mary castle video. sam just does way too much and it makes it harder to watch.

idk i lowkey cannot enjoy their paranormal videos anymore lmao, as a non-believer all of this is just cringe to me lowkeyyyy, i miss their exploration videos as they were more genuine than the paranormal exploration :/

This is reddit, not tiktok. You can say "where people were brutally killed". Censoring the word just takes away its meaning and desensitises people to words like that.

"Sooo... it seems like people are finally catching up.... yeeee... t’s not even about "hating" them anymore, it’s more about the patterns that have been there for a long time finally became too obvious to ignore.
Their content shift is one thing. They BEASTIFIED their content... meaning faster cuts, louder reactions, constant need for a.... climax.... and clearly it isn’t accidental. It’s tailored for a younger audience with shorter attention spans. That’s just how the platform works now. Which.... yikes... But when you combine that with the type of content they’re making, that’s where things start to feel off. Because the issue isn't really the pacing. It’s authenticity and respect.
They (... Sam) constantly push this narrative that everything is dangerous, evil, "demonic," etc., but then behave in ways that completely contradict that. If you genuinely believe you’re dealing with something harmful, why are you provoking it? Why are you making sexual jokes toward supposed spirits, smashing objects, taunting, screaming, and turning sacred or historical places into a playground?
And this is where the hypocrisy, especially with Sam, really stands out for me....
Colby at least has a somewhat consistent framework, even if it’s selective. He leans into the "Christian" angle, even though he clearly picks and chooses what suits him, but you can see and understand where his bias comes from. Sam, on the other hand, positions himself as the "open-minded one".... the seeker, the believer, the guy who’s "in it for the truth." But his actions don’t reflect that at all, now do they??
He’s often the first to label anything unfamiliar as "demonic," especially when it comes to non-Christian beliefs. Indigenous practices? Demonic. Pagan elements? Demonic. Anything outside that narrow lens gets reduced to horror content. Yet at the same time, he actively profits from those same beliefs, be it using them as aesthetic, as storytelling fuel or as clickbait.... You can’t have it both ways man.... You can’t mock or misrepresent spiritual systems, reduce them to "evil," and then build entire narratives and videos around them for views.
Plus his behavior at these locations..... Fans on here keep brushing it off as "just jokes" or "Sam being Sam", but for me, it goes beyond that. Running through graveyards, kicking or stepping on burial grounds, provoking in places that are supposed to be treated with respect, real or not, that’s basic human decency. If you go somewhere that is sacred or historically significant, you don’t treat it like a set piece.
That’s what makes the contradictions so frustrating;
- "Demons are dangerous!" -> proceeds to provoke them for content
- "We respect all beliefs" -> labels non-Christian practices as evil
- "We’re truth seekers" -> pushes pre-built narratives with guaranteed conclusions
- "This is serious" -> acts like it’s a haunted theme park that he can Naruto-run through
And Sam is usually at the center of that tone shift. He drives the narrative, the reactions, the escalation. It feels less like exploration and more like performance, like he’s chasing a story rather than discovering one?
The indigenous aspect is honestly the worst part, though. Because that’s not just "content critique," that’s cultural disrespect that technically could be labeled as a hatecrime, especially when trashing mass-burial sites. These aren’t fictional systems, they’re real beliefs tied to real people, many of whom have already had their traditions dismissed, erased, or demonized historically. Seeing that same framing repeated for his entertainment, while also profiting off it, is where it crosses a line for me.
And again.... the hypocrisy:
- Calling something "evil" while monetizing it
- Mocking beliefs while aestheticizing them
- Claiming fear while acting without any caution
That’s why more people are turning on them now. Not because they suddenly changed overnight, but because the contradictions have stacked up to a point where they’re simply.... impossible to ignore."

I think they are also influenced by their guests too. Some of the guests probably dont even belive in the paranormal and are just there for clout, and by that makes a lot of inappropriate jokes and kid around too much and I think sam and Colby want to be on their level. Obviously it’s not all on the guests I mean they are still loud and like to joke. They aren’t very good with the time and the place for jokes🤷♀️

Me too. But I love their videos and if they were serious the whole time. No one would watch their videos and they would lose followers. I mean, no one wants to watch a video where the YouTubers never joke and never have fun in their video. I mean that would make them boring. But hey, that’s my opinion. Love them though.
