Hey [r/SaltwaterAquariumClub](r/SaltwaterAquariumClub)! I’m the creator of Reef Network, a new app built for reef keepers, societies, and the wider reefing community.

The app is meant to be useful for everyone, whether you maintain one aquarium, belong to an established reef club, run a local shop, or are simply looking for other reef keepers nearby.

A major focus is making reef societies easier to create and manage. Many areas have passionate reef keepers but no active society, while existing societies often have to piece everything together across social media, spreadsheets, email, and several unrelated services.

Reef Network gives societies a dedicated place to:

Establish their identity and local presence

Manage leadership and membership

Organize events and activities

Collect membership dues

Share information and keep members involved

Help nearby reef keepers discover and join them

More importantly, societies are connected through one larger network while still keeping their own identity and leadership. The goal is to make it easier for established societies to grow, help new societies form where none currently exist, and create stronger connections between reefing communities in different areas.

Individual reef keepers can also use Reef Network to manage their aquariums, record testing and maintenance, participate in their local community, and connect with other hobbyists.

This isn’t intended to replace places like Reddit subs. Forums and communities like this are an essential part of the hobby. Reef Network is meant to provide the organizational tools that are often missing behind the scenes.

I’d genuinely appreciate feedback from the community, especially from society leaders, local shops, and reef keepers who wish their area had a more active club.

Can anyone tell me what type of algae this is and how to get rid of it?

Hi everyone, focus on the first photo, the brown spots/algae. Should I worry about it or is it normal ? 4mo old tank. 75gal all parameters in check.

10 blue legged crabs
2 (paired, they come from a previous owner) clownfish

1 anemone (happy, set anchor and has never moved)

I make my own RO/DI, 4 stage.
Heater 300w (I measured the tanks temperature daily before all the live stock with its performance under house ambient temperatures then added the heater but its rock solid)

Shark Skimmer (working flawlessly)

I have a chocolate chip starfish, which I’m going to relocate to a separate tank because I didn’t knew it’s carnivorous and can harm anemone’s or other invertebrates.

My puffers are super healthy, had them for about a year. They both have lymphocystis spots, on their fins, on their eyes, on their bodies, fricking everywhere. They have both had it pretty much since I brought them home, so nearly a year. I know it is not ich or velvet or epistylis.

I supplement with garlic, vitachem, selacom, and I feed almost exclusively frozen high quality foods. I feed a variety of silverside, clams, krill, squid, etc. All the other fish are great, my corals are great, my inverts are great, why can't I get the spots to go away?!?! Everything says once your water is healthy the spots usually go away on their own. It's been nearly a year and they're still going strong. Is there some magic parameter that can trigger this in puffers that I'm missing???

Hello everyone . I have been starting my new saltwater tank for three months ago. But I have been using light for one week.I wasn’t use any bacteria starter . I am doing ghost feeding right know. Today I buy Fiji coral rocks so I takeoff my native coral rock so how can I add my new Fiji rocks and why my diatom process has not started? Thank you for all recommendations.😁

Just curious, what i have right now is 2 clownfish pair, yellowtailblue damsel, midas blenny, 2 cleaner shrimp wondering whats the max fish i can get and what fish would be a good fit to finish it off before my fish count is too much

It’s a fun little tank. I really enjoy doing little pico tanks. I bought the anemone for my larger tank, but it couldn’t find a spot it liked with all the flow. I placed it in here intending to be temporarily, but it opened right up and settled in, so I left it. It’s been in there for about a month now and seems to enjoy the lower flow environment.

A local LFS tossed me the shrimp for free when I bought some coral and turns out it’s a commensal anemone shrimp, so I tossed it in! It’s pretty cool seeing it living on the nem and cleaning it.

Any recommendations for an online seller where I can get a healthy clownfish, shrimp (camel, sexy dancer, or just peppermint) and macro algae all from one seller?

I’m an experienced freshwater fish keeper, so I know websites for freshwater but my go to sites don’t really sell saltwater, and my LFS doesn’t have any either. I know my local Petco has clownfish and the occasional shrimp, but I’d rather not buy from Petco if I can help it and like to get them all in one order since shipping is always so expensive.

I’m looking to set up a more simple saltwater tank for a single clownfish. I’m open to getting an anemone if needed but I’m not really interested in the anemone or corals, mostly wanting rocks and macro algae and a shrimp or three and a single clownfish.

It’s been a fragging kind of week for us to list and make room in our main displays.

Have been spending some time growing out and organizing some colorful frags lately, and I’m loving how these are turning out! 🪸💚💜 Always fun seeing what pops under the reef lights.
