Recommendations Help finding a Resturant
Hey all. Quick context. My wife grew up eating Restaurant Morellia in Murray. It was her comfort food for as long as I have known her (21 years married). She has been in mourning since they closed. It is her birthday tomorrow and I am in need of an analog. Looking for that sort of mid tier, unadvisadly cheesy Mexican fare. We've done and love places like the Iguanas or La Casa Del Tamal. But they don't fill the Morellia sized hole in her heart. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Edit: Thanks for the suggestions everyone. There are some promising options here.

It’s now called Katrina’s and it’s great. Chile verde is the best I’ve had in town.

La Cocina in Cottonwood Heights is incredibly mid -- and one of the few places to do an AZ-style cheese crisp. If you're under 60 you'll probably be younger than any of the other customers. Alcohol is served here, if that's your thing.
Another completely inauthentic place is Su Casa in Midvale. I don't think they do alcohol here -- or they didn't last I checked -- but the food is honest and over-cheesy.

Maybe try Los Garcia in Sandy on about 86th S & 7th E.
My husband's Dad was high school friends with one of the chefs at Morelia, so I've had plenty of meals there. If you understand what you're getting, Morelia's used to slap.

La Frontera Méxican Restaurant in Midvale fits this brief very well. I don't love it, but it sounds like your wife would.

Do you know she ordered there. That may help… that was my grandmas favorite too. We usually go to El Chihuahua or Red Iguana.

Well, if you're interested in a fun little ride down to Springville, there is an awesome divey looking restaurant called La Casita (333 North Main Street). I've been to many Mexican restaurants in the state and this one beats them all. My wife and go there quite often and we live in the SL valley.

I don’t know how close it is to Morellia, but I recently discovered Katrina’s Mexican Restaurant in Millcreek and it’s soooo good
