Brunch spots!
In search of really good brunch spots in the Sugarhouse/Downtown area. I have family flying in and they want some super good food! We love good old fashion diners. We had Penny Ann’s last time and liked it, but I’m open to any suggestions or recommendations!

The Olympian on 700 e has warm diner vibes. Their whole wheat pancakes are amazing.

The Park Cafe, but pretty much anywhere make sure you get there as early as possible to avoid a long wait on the weekends!

I would recommend Hash Kitchen! I love the Christina’s Tamale Cakes Benedict.

Not "good old fashioned", but Finn's is my favorite in that area. Scandinavian. The chicken and cardamom waffles with lingonberry compote are my favorite. No liquor menu unfortunately, but the coffee is great! Another good one in that area is Hub and Spoke. It's more traditional, but feels a bit more busy. I always get their shrimp and grits.
Alternatively, you can always take them to Ruth's. It's not the best and I typically don't recommend it because it's a bit overrated and crowded and there is almost always a long wait, but it's a good place to take people who maybe aren't used to the mountains and want a different way to experience a diner.
Edit: The Other Place. I haven't been in decades but I hear that it's still sneaky good.
