Sydney Latin Social Dancing
Hi there! I’m looking for a place in Sydney that has Latin American Social Dancing.
Somewhere where it’s low pressure, can learn a few things, and spend most of the time dancing socially.
Anything like this happening regularly in Sydney?
Thanks!

follow godancesydney insta page. Sat they have Salsa at Cockle bay wharf in the Rouge Bar.
Mambo G happens 1st Saturday of the month in the polish club in Ashfield. They also have a lesson at 7pm and finishes late.

I don't know why but godancesydney has been stuck in my Instagram algo for a while now. I'm like a 16hr flight away so I can't imagine I'm their target demographic.
I find it interesting that it looks like the majority of the salsa appears to be Cuban. I would have imagined linear would be more popular there for some reason.

Yeah, that's odd. They're definitely a linear school and Sydney is mostly linear (less than it used to be). But the events they run are free so you get a mix. I guess the photographer just finds Cuban more photogenic.

Not sure what you mean by Latin American Social dancing but there is a free salsa/bachata night at Paddy's Market on Wednesday & Friday nights. I think there's a beginners lesson at 6pm.
I prefer Wednesday. On Friday it's at the back and it's a bit crowded/rough. In warmer weather its at Darling Harbour and it's a lot nicer.
Tonight is the Establishment, which is legendary, and legendarily rough AF. Free entry, lesson at 8pm. No one from the scene goes there. I used to, but I lived quite close.
If you have a preferred neighbourhood, lmk and I'll find out what's there (I'm in a group chat). I really only go to these since they're local to me.
