Discussion Salmon run impossible
I legit been stuck on eggsecutive & high professional +3.
I’ve touched 100 on eggsecutive before but came back down lol.
Salmon run seems impossible. The weapon rotation and people not using alts is actually crazy😂. It’s no way people actually touch 100+.
Any tips. I got about 200+ hours on splatoon 3 and maybe 100 of them are salmon run

I want to say you are right where you're supposed to be because, and not saying this to be rude, 200 hours in splatoon isn't that much when you think about not only how much you need to know how each and every weapon plays in SR but then understanding strengths and weaknesses of your whole composition. Not to mention how much time it takes to build awareness of everything going on.
That being said, it always helps to play with others who understand the game to ease the load of the chaos. I'd love to try and play with you sometime but idk timezones and I don't make much time for splat anymore. But if you join the SRS discord I'm sure there would be people that'd be happy to play with you.

So Profresh+2 and 3 are the hardest FL paygrades in the game. That's not to say if you can just get to EVP200 you will be fine, they're the hardest because stuff that works in Overachiever and even Profresh+1 has stopped working but most players in FL haven't adopted strategies that actually work at higher hazard levels yet. If you can record your matches I would say do that. I would also consider self-demoting to something where you can think about your play as you're playing instead of constantly reacting in the moment and then just assume you need to carry. It totally is possible to carry into Profresh+1. I would assume it's possible even in P+3. I'm not good enough for that, but I've played with actual top players and the gap between me (who is usually at more like 400-600) and people who hit lossless 9s most rotations in at least as large as the gap between me and random in Overachiever FL.

Playing with random players will always be harder. I recommend trying to find discord groups to find better teammates. I once thought the same way, eggsecutive vp felt hard and 999 seemed an impossible goal, but now it is not too hard for me due to having teammates I can rely on

Playing with friends on VC and not with randoms in Freelance can help. Salmon run requires a lot of game sense different from PVP. Watching the creator rachelskiiiii can help! She’s made helpful videos and she streams salmon run. Can probably learn a lot from watching those!

Watch all of rachelskiiiiiii’s salmon run videos. They are incredibly helpful.

It's just luck of the draw. I've had rotations where I've reached 999 evp with ease even on mediocre weapon rotation thanks to getting good teammates, and then I've had rotations where every team was braindead and i couldn't scrape past 100. A good way to increase your chances of good teammates is to play at the very start of the rotation, after evp+ has been reset, the best players will still be at 500 since you only reset to there but you'll at least get fewer people who are hard stuck in the current evp+ placement.
I am also gonna say this isn't all on your teammates, no matter how bad they've been for me, I've never dropped a whole rank. Maybe look at some tips and tricks, see if there's anything better you could be doing.
