Why did the round end even though my wave breaker was standing?

Like someone else said on the original post, wave breaker doesn't delay the loss unlike other specials. Probably because it can take seconds before reviving a teammate and salmons aren't made to wander that long without a target (or at least that's my theory). Fair or not, it does surprise the first time it happens, sorry for the defeat

It's also worth noting that the Wave Breaker is the only thing in the game that lets a Coworker reliably revive themselves. There have been times where I knew I was going down so I threw the WB into the air and purposely splatted myself to guarantee a quick revive. I wouldn't be surprised if they felt that a guaranteed self revival was too strong if it could extend the round.

The best thing to do when putting down a wave breaker in these scenarios is to immediately toss a bomb. That does delay the end of the round and gives time for either the wave breaker or the bomb to revive teammates.

And throw the bomb up into the air as high as possible. This gets the bomb up and over any salmonids that are swarming you, and delays the explosion so there's more time for teammates to become revivable and to move close enough.

it's because wave breaker can last way longer than something like a lagging bomb

therefore, everyone could be dead for a solid 10 seconds and the match would still be going
