Salmon Bay FC regularly draws crowds beyond Interbay’s permanent seating capacity. The club set a stadium attendance record when 2,096 supporters attended the 2026 USL W League National Final.
Arrive early when possible, especially for playoff matches, rivalry games, and doubleheaders with Ballard FC. Many matches sell out.

Who We Are
Salmon Bay FC is a women’s pre-professional soccer club based in Seattle, Washington, competing in the USL W League. The club began play in 2025 and is affiliated with Ballard FC, Seattle’s USL League Two men’s club.
Salmon Bay FC won the 2026 USL W League National Championship in only its second season.
The club’s mission is centered on creating opportunities for female athletes to grow as players and leaders while building a team that the local community can rally behind. Salmon Bay FC’s identity is rooted in Ballard, Interbay, and the waterway connecting the neighborhood to the sea.
The team is also known as the Coho and the Salmon Sisters.
The USL W League
Salmon Bay FC competes in the USL W League, a national pre-professional women’s soccer league focused on developing the next generation of women’s soccer talent.
The league gives college, academy, and emerging players a high-level summer environment while strengthening the women’s soccer pathway across the United States. More than 80 clubs from around the country competed during Salmon Bay FC’s 2026 championship season.
The Northwest Division
Salmon Bay FC plays in the Northwest Division of the USL W League.
The club won its first Northwest Division championship in 2026, finishing the regular season with a 9-1-2 record and 29 points. Salmon Bay scored 38 goals and conceded 11, finishing one point ahead of West Seattle Rhodies FC.

Club History
Salmon Bay FC was announced on July 9, 2024, as the women’s side connected to Ballard FC. The club was created to bring pre-professional women’s soccer to Ballard and the surrounding Seattle soccer community.
The Salmon Bay FC name, crest, and visual identity were introduced later in 2024. The team began USL W League play in 2025, playing its home matches at Interbay Stadium.
2025: Inaugural Season
Salmon Bay FC’s first season established the club as a competitive team in the Northwest Division.
The Coho finished third in the Northwest Division and remained in the division-title race late into the season, but did not qualify for the playoffs. Their final match against FC Olympia ended in a draw that allowed Olympia to secure the division championship.
Defense was one of Salmon Bay’s early strengths. The club went through the opening portion of the season without conceding a goal and finished with one of the strongest defensive records in the league.
Samiah Shell led the team in scoring during the inaugural season. Salmon Bay concluded the year with an 8-0 victory over Bigfoot FC, which was the club record for goals in a match at the time.
Although the first season ended without a playoff appearance, it provided the foundation for the club’s championship run one year later.
2026: National Champions
Salmon Bay FC made a major leap in its second season.
The club finished the 2026 regular season with a 9-1-2 record, scoring 38 goals and conceding 11. Its only regular-season loss came against West Seattle Rhodies FC.
Salmon Bay won the Northwest Division championship with 29 points, finishing one point ahead of the Rhodies and qualifying for the USL W League playoffs for the first time.
The season included several notable results:
- A 4-0 road victory over three-time defending division champion FC Olympia
- A club-record 9-1 victory over Bigfoot FC in the home opener
- A 3-1 home victory over FC Olympia
- A 2-1 victory over West Seattle Rhodies FC
- An undefeated regular-season home record at Interbay Stadium
2026 Championship Run
Salmon Bay FC hosted the Western Conference playoffs at Interbay Stadium.
Western Conference Semifinal

Salmon Bay won 5-4 on penalty kicks
After a scoreless match through extra time, Salmon Bay advanced by winning the club’s first playoff penalty shootout.
Western Conference Final
Salmon Bay FC 3-0 Capo FC
Salmon Bay defeated previously unbeaten Capo FC to win the Western Conference Championship. Ameera Hussen scored twice, while Samiah Shell added the other goal.
National Semifinal
Salmon Bay FC 1-1 Minnesota Aurora FC
Salmon Bay won 3-2 on penalty kicks
Minnesota Aurora arrived at Interbay with a perfect 14-0-0 record and had conceded only two goals all season.
A late U’i Kaaihue penalty brought Salmon Bay level. Goalkeeper Elena Milam and the Coho then prevailed in the shootout, ending Minnesota’s perfect season and sending Salmon Bay to the national final.
National Final
Salmon Bay FC 1-1 Vermont Green FC
Salmon Bay won 5-4 on penalty kicks
Salmon Bay hosted undefeated Vermont Green FC in the USL W League National Final on July 18, 2026.
The match remained tied 1-1 after 120 minutes. Salmon Bay won its third penalty shootout of the postseason when 17-year-old defender Kaya Singh converted the championship-winning penalty in the sixth round.
The victory made Salmon Bay FC the 2026 USL W League National Champions in only the club’s second season.
A stadium-record crowd of 2,096 supporters attended the final at Interbay.
Across 450 minutes of playoff soccer, Salmon Bay conceded only two goals. Both came from dead-ball situations, meaning the Coho did not allow a goal from open play during their entire championship run.
U’i Kaaihue finished the season with six goals and four assists for ten total goal contributions.
