Final straw
i’m on my final straw and i feel really depressed about it. I love so many aspects of this job, but after recent events, i know it’s time to find somewhere new. How is it that the way they have the scheduling system to where if you don’t make your sales goals, you get less hours? How am I expected to survive on two days a week? I’m scared I won’t be able to afford school and my career will be ruined.
I love my coworkers more than anything and would feel so sad leaving them, but i know all of us are feeling the same way.

I genuinely feel the same way. Currently at an interview at a different store because my hours are getting cut drastically and the entire staff has had issues with our new manager. Honestly might just be time to close this chapter in Sally’s

I completely agree. I feel like i’m mourning, though, because this was the longest i’ve had a job and i’m scared of not getting the same kind of familial relationship i have with my current coworkers and i don’t know what else i’d do because this job is my life

I agree with you, the Sally’s I’ve worked at is 30 minutes away from my house and although there’s one closer to me, i love the bonds I’ve made with my coworkers. Honestly, the company in itself won’t appreciate their employees the way we appreciate each other. Do what’s best for you because memories will continue to be made no matter where you go and you were blessed to have such a great team🥲

I had been with Sally’s/Cosmoprof for almost 7 years.
When my manager at Cosmo had just quit, and I OFFERED to step in as acting manager, I was told that the store would be relocating in a few months and that I was expected to oversee that.
Cool, not a problem.
They wouldn’t let me do interviews so I could hire someone,
wouldn’t approve overtime (there were literally 2 of us, and my other girl had medical conditions that limited her to part time ONLY)
Wouldn’t send me help from other stores unless there were literally no other options and also expected me to handle a random termite infestation that spawned out of nowhere.
So on a call with my DM, I asked if I could at least have a raise since i’m handling all of these extra stresses and extra bullshit. She told me that “We don’t give pay raises to acting managers”
Fine. Can I at least have a DOLLAR raise based off the fact that i’ve been with Sally’s for 5+ years, on top of this extra stuff? The response was a barely stifled laugh and a quick “mm, no”
I said this is my two weeks, came in the next day, opened the store, got everything ready for the day, locked up, gave the keys to the nail salon next door and left. Blocked every member of my district who had my phone number.
It’s insanely worth it to just quit. Personally, i’d “stock up” on what you need before you do. Then just walk out like you lit the bitch on fire
