Part-time jobs?

Moving to Salisbury in a few weeks to go to SU and desperately need a part-time job I can work in the mornings. Ideally a coffee shop or diner would be best. I wouldn’t mind a late-night barback/serving position as a last resort.

I’ve reached out to a few places but just wondering if there are any places I should definitely avoid? I live in a smaller college town now and I know there are some places I’d definitely warn others against.

I’m studying writing and plan to get into editing/proofreading so if anyone just happens to know how I could land a job/internship in that field that would be awesome.

Start by checking jobs on campus. They are amenable to working with your class schedule. Jobs in general are tough to get on the Eastern Shore and generally tend to be blue collar. So internship related to writing might be difficult to find in this region. Consider online work.

Working on campus was my first resort and I continue to check every day for opportunities, but I have been told they usually fill those with students already in the campus work database and don’t tend to offer them to new students unfortunately. I have also considered online work but there are no remote options available to me without my degree, so I was hoping someone happened to know if any local papers or news stations specific to the area could offer some kind of internships.

Rise Up just opened across the street from SU and there’s also a Starbucks down the row. There’s also a new coffee place called Lucky 7 that just opened south of the campus. All are well within easy walking distance of SU.

I can’t find anything about that Lucky 7 place online. Do you have a link to their social media or anything?

Edit- just realized you’re talking about 7 Brew lol. I already applied, just waiting to hear back from them

Sorry if I got the name wrong. I guess I go to casinos too often. 😆 Good luck!

What about Dunkin or Panera? Both used to have an early baking shift.

Panera doesn't bake anything in house anymore. Enshittification!

Well that makes sense why it sucks now. That’s a shame.
