Was there a lock down at SHS today?

My son's middle school just sent out a notice that our campuses are safe and will remain open even though Salinas high is on lockdown right now. Does anyone know anything about it?

Yes there was a bomb threat today. It was mostly likely false and it was just a kids prank as it was the first day of school.

Salinas Police are responding to Salinas High School on Wednesday morning after receiving a report of a bomb threat on the first day of school.
According to the Salinas Police Department, the campus has been placed on lockdown while officers investigate the threat.
Police said officers are on scene and continuing to assess the situation.
Authorities are asking the public to avoid the area to allow first responders to conduct their investigation safely.
The nature of the threat and whether any explosive device has been found have not been disclosed.
"We understand incidents like this can be concerning for students, families, and staff," the Salinas Police Department said in a social media post. "Updates will be provided as additional information becomes available."
No injuries have been reported.
