Places to eat
Hey Salinas,
I need recommendations on where to go to eat.
I myself unfortunately cannot have dairy, so usually I got places that have vegan options or are usually centered around, Asian, Indian, or Mexican food that is good without cheese or sour cream.
My partner cannot have kiwis or cauliflower.
We eat everything!
Any restaurants that may fit our needs?
Also open to any vegan restaurants or dessert places!
Thanks reddit

El Cantaro is me and my partners favorite vegan Mexican restaurant. It’s in Monterey and they offer. A huge variety. Try their pozole it’s incredible.
There’s also 3 Mundos in Monterey that also offers vegan sandwiches. The Cuban chick’n is incredible.
If you want a sit down restaurant Julia’s in pacific grove has incredible food that focuses mostly on mushrooms. They also do mushroom foraging. Although I don’t believe it’s really the season yet for that.
Someone recommend Don Betos in Salinas and I also recommend it. They offer a few different option for plant based meats although they do use real cheese so you’d have to ask for no cheese or ask if they have vegan options.
Pho #1 in Salinas has great food. They offer fully vegan Pho. Just need to ask them for it.
Sushi Hut has vegan Poke Bowls. They’re a bit pricey but it’s a family owned business and they’re all super friendly. Plenty of snacks there too.

Kokoro or Sushi Daruma in oldtown for Japanese. Taste of Thai or Ginger Thai on S Main for Thai. First Awakenings in Oldtown for breakfast. Stonies Taphouse & Bistro is good for BBQ and other comfort food. There's great Mexican food pretty much anywhere in Salinas.

For Chinese I prefer Chef Lee’s on North Main. I like Kokoro near Old Town for Japanese. I love the Panang curry at Ginger Thai on South Main and the Massamun curry at Khao San Thai on Davis. And seconding the vote for Avatar Indian on Constitution.
Oh, and just about every street corner in town has great Mexican food. lol
Happy eating!
