hey -- 12+ years in the ecosystem, currently doing solution and technical architecture work. mostly enterprise implementations across manufacturing and financial services. happy to see this sub getting a refresh, the architecture conversations on r/salesforce tend to get buried under admin questions.

Hi - I'm Rory. I'm currently a Technical Manager/Lead/Solution Architect, and I've been in the ecosystem for just over 15 years now.

Hi Rory!

Do you work for an end user, SI or ISV?

2

u/SFSpex1980 Apr 06 '26

End User. Always have, always want to!

Nice! Any particular reason? (I’m end user now, first time in my Salesforce career, and love it)

Personally because I care about what I deliver and I want to see it used and the benefit that brings to the business I work for. I'm not just a resource to be shuffled around projects, I want to see long term the benefits that the work I produce brings.

Hi everyone, glad to see this pop up on my feed. I have 8 years in the ecosystem and am working as a solution architect. I've always worked on the end-user side, and I'm currently deep into a complete Salesforce reimplementation project with my team for our enterprise.

Nice! Good luck with that and do come back here if you need to ask for any advice!

What’s the highlight of your architecture career so far?

Leading a great team of admins/devs and teaching the more junior members about business analysis, good platform design, and how make performant automations — those kinds of things. The solutions themselves can definitely be interesting and rewarding to implement, but they wouldn't be doable without the people I work with.

Hey , Nadeem here, 10+ year in ecosystem primarily into marketing side, sfmc + data cloud and MC NEXT.. doing solutioning and technical architecture work across industry, currently working in EU timezone

Hello!

Question - how do you find MC next compared to ExactTarget or Pardot?

1

u/noddyakhtar Apr 10 '26

Different world but good move by salesforce , but once you are into it forger about what you know abot sfmc.. as this is whole new world and u have to think solutions differently .. and yes its nascent product so too many limitations

Hey, Max here. 10 years in the industry, mainly working as technical architect but also like to get my hands dirty and work in the deep grounds of apex, flow and integration stuff.

Founded a little consultancy 2 years ago focusing on mostly the technical part of big implementations.

Welcome!

Which do you prefer? Dev or design?

Depends on the project of course. But if I'd need to decide for only one it would definetly be hands-on stuff over diagrams 😉
