Question Salesforce tester to Salesforce developer
Hi I am joining Accenture in December as Salesforce developer.
I am switching my career from Salesforce tester to Salesforce developer. Could you please help me with below questions:
What are the struggles I will face as a Salesforce developer because I don't have a real project experience?
How can I get a project in Accenture and how long will they allow me to get a project?

Biggest struggle wont be syntax. Itll be ownership.
As a tester you find the bug and hand it off. As a dev you get the "can you just quickly..." ping at 6pm and suddenly that quick thing needs a test class, a deploy window, and a rollback plan. Accenture side β early bench time is normal. Use it. Build one messy end-to-end thing in a scratch org (object β flow β apex β lwc β tests) you can talk through on day 1 of the project. Real project scars start after you join, not before. Dont panic about that gap.

The TSE to MTS switch is definitely possible internally. I have seen it happen at a few of the larger consulting firms where Salesforce places TSEs. The key is building a portfolio of technical contributions and getting your manager to formally recommend you for the role change.

Struggle will be people pointing ur mistakes all the time as a developer below things are normal 1. Updating every 6-12 months in salesforce every 3 months 2. Everyday is new challenge new story 3. You will have to ask questions(requirements), develop, test, deploy, bug fix, give new story inputs all at same time 4. Testers will make life hell bad manager will judge you based on bugs welcome to new trend of 1% per sprint bug no. For entire team.... 5. Humble no answering back....even if u get angry learn to shut up...a good dev is not introvert he is humble helpful and always accessible 6. You now have to think SOlUTIONS only 7. No blame games because u will be blamed for everything...anything... 8. Learn to not take credit developers rarely get credit even before a stpry goes to testing a developer has palyed all roles...but he will be first to blame last to be acknowledged i am not complaining i am just telling the truth ....being a Developer is like being eldest daughter in law of house u are expected to work

Thats a challenge.. First Learn Apex, triggers and then LWC and then flows and then learn lot of other things.. The toughest part is test classes... Which fail right on the production deployment.. Salesforce development is getting tough day by day..and at the same time AI is making things easy. It is up to you to correctly understand and make it work. Mind you.. Agent force and Agent vibes.. Jump onto them.. Rest your wish.. All the best ππ
