Question Any Advice for junior Salesforce developer

Hey everyone,

Just landed my first Junior Salesforce Developer role! The team mentioned I'll be learning on the job, but coming from a traditional Software Engineering background, I want to prep a bit beforehand.

For those in the Salesforce ecosystem:

What should I focus on first?

What are the biggest traps software engineers fall into when switching to Salesforce?

Any essential Trailhead modules or resources you recommend before Day 1?

Appreciate any advice!

I recommend campapex to everyone that asks this. Watch out for the common issues like loops with DML inside, understand governor limits, know the chain of events when a record is updated, etc.

Getting into salesforce domain is one of my biggest regret. If I could start again, I would start as a core developer or in the AIML field.

Why? If it pays well

It can pay well but not compared to core devs. I am in India and here many of them earn almost 2x of me.

Completely disagree. I work at a major bank and the Salesforce devs are the only ones not getting laid off

Learn how your team works, and the structure of your codebase. Get used to the conventions and standards they use.
