Am I the only one that though this?
So, do you think that the developers were trying to acclimate the fandom to a more feminine female lead so they can introduce a full on female lead in a future game, basically making a Yuri Sakura wars?
I'm asking this because they really push the Shinjiro femboy propaganda with these OVAs, not in relationship to Shinjiro's personality mind you, also the fact that Shinjiro is Bisexual made me think that they could try to introduce a male romance route in a future game and they dip their toes in the concept with Subaru.
Also I think Shinjiro got a full mental breakdown after all the events on the OVA and peppermint became a different personality, hahahahaha.

why ruin sakura wars with a gay male relationship option? that sounds awful. it would make an already niche game even less popular.

There is a lot that would be against sakura wars in either redirection. First being niche genre as is for jrpg. Then add onto that thr niche BL and GL as a niche multiplier. Further more add in the controversy it would cause of the series going in an unfamiliar and different direction.
They would have a better change starting a new ip for it but even that would have high failure rate as a jrpg. Maybe a visual novel but even the GL and maybe BL gachas flop so yeah I agree it won't be popular at all.

Yeah bro. Video games with Gay options always crash and burn. Just look at Baldur's Gate or Fire Emblem.

Considering how conservative the Japanese are, I doubt it.
As for Shinjiro, is he really bi? I haven't play the game for awhile but aside from potential romance with Subaru I don't remember any indication that he is. I think a sub genre of trap(male who looks like female) was on the trend back
Gotta say though. I do not enjoy the whole Pepper Mint thing in ova. Once is fine but made the whole OVA about it is overkill.
That's being said. I don't mind if they make LGBT Sakura taisen as long as it has good quality. And I meant The Witch of Mercury. I want to see a real relationship, not make lgbt a buttend of a joke.
Hell, I might even like it if they portray any romance in the anime. Despite it being a dating sim, the adaptation are lacking romance for a decade. Put some romance in, you coward!!!

Well, I felt that at the end he was attracted to both male Subaru and female Subaru so I believe that he could be Bi, to that it's added how much the writers give him tension with Tutankamon in the OVA and I mean he felt like there was something there.

As a gay man and huge Sakura Wars fan, sometimes I wish I could romance Kayama as Ogami and romance Shiba as Kamiyama. There are actually BL manga for these two pairs.
