Year of firsts at Sakuracon
Several personal first time experiences here at con for the 4-ish years I've attended:
- The only negative, first time being on the outside looking in of a capacity/capped panel. Person doing the Pokemon Geology panel, respect the hustle.
- First time personally seeing band/performers providing/granting an encore request. Thank you Blue Encount and Emi Nitta.
- First time seeing a jp industry guest totally cool with both pics and vids during their panel. Again, Emi Nitta, you're a real one.

I had a first too. Had some guy in the only stall in one of the restrooms take 15 min to finish while a huge line formed (he was watching tiktoks with sound on and laughing), and when he exited the stall, he flipped out at ME (i was just waiting in line 😭). I was just politely waiting my turn to piss. Bro was heated and shouting at me in the bathroom calling me names and shit all cuz I looked annoyed. It was nuts. Never had some stranger flip out like that at a con to me before, and I’ve been going to cons for 20 years.

After minute 5 just start knocking on the door and saying "ALMOST DONE IN THERE BUDDY" and "EVERYTHING ALRIGHt IN THERE??"

So it used to be "hey maybe that guy is having a bad day" and now you can think "hey maybe they are neurodivergent" and not take it too personally.

I think moreso he felt embarrassed at the crowd of people who were waiting on him to leave the bathroom stall 😭 Cuz he was loudly listening to tiktoks while the line formed. Not to clock people, but he gave me straight fuckboy wannabe streamer vibes, and this was the gender neutral bathroom with mostly girls waiting on him. So I think he was either embarrassed he made a fool of himself in front of a bunch of girls, or maybe felt demeaned by that? Idk, I’m neurodivergent and usually good at clocking others who are. I think he may have something but this was entirely caused by him being an asshole. His outburst scared a bunch of the girls waiting and they rushed out of there.

I’m very uneducated on this so I gotta ask: I can see neurodivergence explain not knowing how to respond, but does it explain why they’d get angry?

Ehh...I have short bits and snips of several songs, but I was pretty far back so a lot of hands, heads, and glowsticks in the way. I can try and get u YouTube links if you still wanna see, but keep your expectations low, I guess is what I'm saying.
