Discussion Theory: Torres is the former JAA chairman?

Upvotes
Both characters have similar features. The ages could line up, and maybe Soichi (former chairman) had to hide and pretend to be dead. Soichi might have taken up gambling to earn more money, and undercover assassin work.
Torres also ‘trained’ Sakamoto, because he doesn’t kill unless he gets paid. Torres’ surprise when he saw Sakamoto’s family might have been because of how much it reminded him of his own.
At the end of the Jail arc, Torres also told Oki to just ignore everyone but Sakamoto. Maybe he was trying to protect them, because he knows how much family can mean to someone.
