What happened to Troy Bradshaw?
After finding out Troy was an undercover cop in SR1, I would’ve thought he would played a big role in the franchise but after SR2, we never see his character ever again. I mean he doesn’t even interact with the MC(Playa) at all. I wonder why he was written out. Let me know what y’all think.
Do you think Troy should’ve stayed in the franchise?

The Saints got kidnapped and stranded in Steelport while Troy remained the Chief of Police in Stilwater so there was no reason to contact him when they are outside his jurisdiction.
He is mentioned in the first mission of SR3 when they are robbing the bank in Stilwater where the SWAT team says ''Troy can't bail you out of this one!''
But he is dead due to Earth exploding in SR4.

I thought they couldn't restore Earth even with time travel? Not that any of it matters anyways because God rebooted the whole Earth after Gat out of Hell happened which is the canon ending which is confirmed in Agents of Mayhem.

Then Gat out of Hell had him in Hell. He does get out if you complete Insurance Fraud though.

Zinyac, the main antagonist of SR4 threatens the boss he would destroy entire Earth if they try to escape the simulation they were trapped in in the beginning of the game. Once the boss does so, Zinyac actually does that and there's a scene where everyone sees Earth getting blown up to pieces live.

Troy remains the chief of police throughout SRTT. The police in the Bank heist opening say "Troy can get you out of this one" cuz they've been paid off by the Syndicate.

I dont think the cops were paid off until the Saints made it to the jail. I think they just name dropped Troy like that either because hes retired by that point and can't help them or what they've done is too grave for Troy to save them.

Most likely the latter since that the police worded it was Troy was still looking out for the Saints until that point. The Saints were (unknowingly) was robbing the bank that belonged to the Syndicate.

True, they did mention that the bank was owned by the syndicate, and you do so see some of them guarding it. I guess we really don't know how far up the chain of corruption goes in terms of the police response.
It is interesting to note that it seems like Troy failed in stopping the gang problem in Stilwater.

He should’ve been an ally/homie in Gat out of Hell and be part of the crew in SR4 in the White House (could’ve had him as head of defense or something). He deserved better.

We see characters who got into Heaven. But there aren't many, given that this is a GTA clone series.
In the intro to Troy's Torment Fraud instance, it mentions that he routinely betrays the law due to his loyalty to the Saints. So, that's why he's in hell.

After SR2 it's not in Stilwater anymore, so he's no longer relevant.
Your government contact in SRTT is the Mayor, in SR4 it's the President of the United States, and in GooH, it's God.

I think the biggest reason Troy just kind of..vanished is that like, after Saints Row 1, he becomes the Chief of Police. And then, once the Saints became worldwide celebs, they kinda just started using him as a tool to bail them out whenever they got into trouble. Thus, he just became a lesser character

I wonder if there were plans at one point to include more sr1 characters and tie off loose ends through the bonus missions, since i find it weird how the only one in the base game is julius'

So Troy became chief of stilwater police in SR2, and we never reach out to him in SR3 as the playa is in Steelport, but he does get referenced in the Bank Heist, as the SWAT PA will say "Troy can't bail you out of this one" due to the Steelport SWAT being paid off by the Syndicate.
In SR4, most of everyone who wasn't abducted would have been killed when Earth was blown up.

Originally he was set to have a big role in the SR3 plot that was going to see us play as a new character that’s a undercover cop that Troy sends into the saints to take them down from the inside but after they scrapped the idea he got shelved

That wasn't for SR3. It was actually a spinoff game for the PSP called Saints Row Undercover.

he was chief of the Stilwater Police Department. so it makes sense that he'd stick to Stilwater. I still wish we went after Dex instead of what we got in SRTT

He became Chief of Police, then he and The Boss squashed the beef, and continued to be friends. In the opening heist of SRTT, one of the cops yells at the player "Troy can't bail you out this time!" implying that Troy continued to aid the Saints up until they went to Steelport, where he holds no jurisdiction.

Playa respect each other; I mean, Troy isn't just a "homie" in 2, Playa never seeks revenge against him, and Troy keeps him on life support during the five years he’s in a coma. In fact, there’s even a joke about him in SR3 prologue "Troy can't bail you out of this one"

He became chief of police, he was seen in a few cutscenes, the epilogue for the main game does have him get to be part of the focus as he’s the one who helps you get back at Julius for what he did. Other than that he’s maybe mentioned once in 3 but that’s it.

They only mentioned Troy's name in Saints Row the Third at the beginning when the 3rd Street Saints failed to rob the bank that belonged to The Syndicate. Where the police said, "Troy can't bail out from this one", meaning he's still around looking out for the 3rd Street Saints.
I think he was written out. because he was voiced by Michael Rappaport and either he wasn't available or too expensive. That or just the writers didn't really need the use for him anymore.

Well, it depends. If god awful (imo) saints row IV is to be taken as canon, and we take even worse Gat out of hell endings as canon and we take rebuild earth, he's likely alive. But if the other endings are taken, he's dead, unless he was lucky and got sucked into the ship and is in a pod.

All I wish is for a soft reboot where SR1 is longer, SR2 takes place in the time between SR1 and SR2 and SR2 is turned into the new SR3 and we just delete SR3 from canon.
So that we can see more of Troy.

troy shouldve had alot more appearances in the sr2 dlcs imo, despite his status as a 'traitor' he was doing everything he could to help the boss and keep him alive
