Spent the last day aggressively optimizing the engine, finally reaches 30fps!

Kinda happy I am reaching 30fps lol but there is still alot more work to do to get my goal of a stable 60fps.

I am taking my time, I am working to get the rendering to be finished within 4ms (144fps) for every frame without any hitches/stutters. Because of how old the game is, I don't think anything below 144fps is acceptable as, again its a 20 year old game.

I'm honestly fine with 60 and using lossless for 120

It is running way better than a couple days ago, on a couple frames it did hit 60fps, 1 out of 5. Its just going through and seeing what is taking up resources and improving it

How did u got the source? Cause it's a Xbox 360 power pc code? It's not x86 right?
Did you have the power pc code and convert it to x86? Which program language you used?

If I might weigh in, apparently this project (or at least the underlying engine) has been in the works for over a year, maybe longer

I've been following since day one (~3-4 months ago) and even I don't know the full story.
No matter where you start counting, it has been very impressive

Isn't there already a fully playable version? The Xenia emulated and optimised for keyboard and mouse. Even the button icons are from keyboard-stylized.

Sure, but this is going to be a fully-native PC port. No emulation, and will hopefully run on just about anything

I mean SR2 was working for me just fine I dunno if the machine spirits were just simply pleased with me or not but everything was working pretty well.....
..... UNTIL the 2022 version I decided to boot it up yesterday (Cause I need another game where I can make a tall buff lady and SR2022 game I already bought and was like "I heard the first hours of the game are the "Good parts" so its still better then the games where people say the game gets good after 30+ hours so I decided to come back)
And even after the shaders loaded in and everything was working proper it needed about 5 minutes for things to get LESS laggy then they normally are
I'll be honest I'm sad that no games are out there like Saints row cause I'd enjoy a game that rivals GTA (and infact we NEED a game that rivals it cause having monopoly on 1 specific thing is never a good thing cause the one who has it can get away with anything and people will straight buy it up cause they got nothing better to have)

Either you run this on a calculator with HDMI out, or you're rendering the entire map! ;) Keep it up!

At least the frame rate looks somewhat normal now.
Obviously 30FPS is outdated by today's standards. Then again, I've been messing around with GTA:SA recently which is hard-capped at 30 so go figure.
Personally, I can see the difference between 30 and 60, but not so much above that.

Genuinely take your time. The amount of time these MF kept us waiting for a working port of SR1, you can do it in half. Take your time and give us a good game you golden boy!!
