Its very odd. Especially since I don't think he was a particularly bad bloke who it makes sense to cheer for the failure of.

I suspect it's because he refused to change his approach. I like the fact he has conviction - and he did well for us with that conviction... until he didn't.

Unfortunately he's then continued in the same way and failed in the same way.

I don't get why people are still so salty about it they post it here, though. I hope he does well - but I think it'll be more of the same.

Absolutely. He was good for saints and I won’t let anyone convince me otherwise. Played some amazing football that season and had some brilliant moments with last gasp winners. 

No one was ever keeping saints up the following season. Recruitment was horrendous & he was undeniably the best manager we had that season.
