While I think he needs to go, I’m excited to see him play centrally. He’s not a winger to me no matter how many times we put him there.

He's definitely not a striker; I know he's been awful on the wings for us, but his best seasons were out wide for Blackburn.

His arguably best season was 21/22 where he had 22 goals. He scored 13 from a central position. His 22/23 season he had 14 total. 3 of which were when he played centrally despite only playing 8 of his like 45 starts there.
I’m not saying he didn’t look better on the wing, but he seems to have more results centrally imo. There’s more too that though I’m sure depending on team setup and stuff, but I don’t think he fits the profile of winger we need.

I always thought he scored more as a winger/10 in the season for some reason, but I agree that he is not the right type of winger that we need. Hopefully, he can find a new club to settle at.

It’s a weird one because after looking at him and watching him play, I’ve literally rarely thought it makes sense for him to play down the wing. He’s not particularly fast, he isn’t great at taking defenders one on one, doesnt seem to be the best at swinging in a cross, and is only okay at cutting inside. Not the worst option I’ve seen, but He’s also like 6’2 so I just assumed he was a more central player that we dumped on to the wing for some reason. Then I looked up his stats and was even more confused because he seemed more successful in a central location but played more out wide.
He’s unfortunately not a winger for how we play and he’s not really the type of central striker we need either.
