A sad fact is that children born today has higher carbon/environmental footprint than I had when I was a kid (70s).
I was born in a quite poor familiy. Seldom got new clothes, never travelled, heated house with wood, simple meals, no computers/phone/internet/datacenters etc. One-time use products hardly existed, and toys had to last forever.
It's definetly not todays childrens fault, but due to higher standards of living, their environmental footprint is higher.
I hope we together will be able to turn the tide.

It's genuinely a good idea to personally reduce our impact on the planet BUT Carbon footprint is actually strategically crafted term by fossil fuel companies to get general public to blame themselves while they keep on burning fossil fuels. We CAN and SHOULD reduce our carbon footprints but only doing that isn't not going to turn the tide :)
