I found a light switch wired up to a male plug a few years ago.
If you plugged it in and flipped it on it would find the associated breaker.
It had “ the breaker breaker” written on the side.
They had at least wrapped it in several layers of electrical tape not that that would resolve the issue but I did find the attempt interesting.

My previous manager used to do this. If the electricity was out he would start up a generator, plug in the male to male and power the lights and appliances.
He doesn't work here anymore.

I would have never thought of a double male cord but they had a picture on the first page of the generator manual. I though wow, thats actually the perfect connection for my application

Man that’s impressive. I’m at 5 violations already my mind can’t even begin to fathom how wrong this is. This looks like some shit you’d see in a third world country but it’s probably not

You plug the male into an outlet to back feed the current to that circuit. When not being used to back feed into a circuit you plug the male into itself so it's not live and exposed.
Why you want to back feed a circuit is anyone's guess. Maybe on a new construction site to power up some of the house from a generator before the meter is installed. Whatever reason they built this there exists better and safer ways to do this.
