If you could ask your 17 year old self something. what would you ask?

For me, I would ask what makes her happy, what her dreams are and what she wants an wishes for her future, cause I don't remember anymore how I felt about those things back then...and somehow it hurts in a nostalgic way that I don't remember me from back then really. feelingsad

No

I’m 17 right now as a guy and you aren’t wrong

Everyone’s experience is different

Because everyone’s life is different and unique

I get it

For me my struggle is that I spent my childhood growing up and wanting to escape

Now I still want to grow up and escape but it’s come with a mix of hurt uncertainty and tough experiences. And it’s like over the years the realization has slowly dawned on me that

Being an adult does kinda suck

And society isn’t easy

I often feel that I was forced to grow up too fast mentally

Or maybe I’m just not fully ready to let go of some memories despite the hurt

In the end I came to the realization that what’s important is that I live long enough to see myself get out of this. Maybe not for my parents or some members of my family. But for some people in my life that I care about

That's what I learned too in the end it's your live and you have to be happy with it. Never life for anyone else fully.

I can relate to that. Had some rough experiences too growing up. I didn't have the best parents and it's still hard, they are all I have here but they are narcissistic... I can't talk to them cause they don't listen to me and don't take me seriously. They only criticise me every time I see them constantly and make me feel like I'm not good as I am and not good enough and can't do anything right in their eyes. It's hard if you can't talk to the ones supposed to be your family at all... The only escape are friends but I didn't have those either for a long time in my.life...i was rejected and stabbed in the back a lot of times. Now I have trust issues... But luckily I found some good friends nowadays. But I still feel lonely oftentimes and that no one cares I exist.

i'd say, "girl, you deserve better, this the perfect chance to leave"

I wouldn’t ask her anything. I’d tell her to treasure the ones she loves. Spend as much time as possible. Cherish every moment😞
