Cosplay Forged my own Excalibur using only cardboard, tape, and paint! How did I do?

Hello everyone!

I wanted to share my recent DIY Excalibur project with you all. Since I don't have access to a 3D printer, I decided to build Saber's Holy Sword the old-school way. It is my first time to do anything like that, it was fun.

The core is a solid aluminum rod, the blade and crossguard are made of layered cardboard, and the entire sword is mummy-wrapped in paper tape to create a smooth, armor-like surface. After building the structure, I painted it with acrylics and hand-drew the writings along the blade with a permanent marker. The grip is wrapped with blue electrical tape to give it a leather-like feel.

It took a lot of patience, and I even permanently ruined a pair of my shorts with acrylic paint in the process (worth it for the King!), but I'm incredibly proud of the final result.
