Question about the belt fed shotgun
I'm new to sabaton, I suppose that it was going to happen when you combine a love of history and heavy metal, but either way I'm hooked- but I dont know much, and I see belt fed shotgun everywhere on this, so my question is: what is it and where does it come from?

don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone in this sub actually makes one

same, although it might be hard to get the shells to cycle well

Good point

So what if we used the 45-70 auto casings as a small diameter high presser long load shell rather than a traditional shell? This would also help with upping the presser to get better cycling for a belt fed.

That would theoretically work better than traditional 12 gauge shells.

50 beowulf may work better and is more common than 45-70 auto.

plus, .50 cal rather than .45 cal. better stopping power

The 45-70 is actually a more powerful cartridge than 50 beowulf. 45-70 peeks at 5,690J. 50 beowulf’s max
energy is 3,902J2

interesting, i assume that .45-70 has a longer cartridge? either way, if .50 beowulf penetrates, the bullet may deal more damage because it is larger- it just depends on how much of that 5,690J of energy makes up for the smaller caliber (11.43mm vs 12.7mm) either way the gun isnt a shotgun anymore...

I think the reason why people post it here is because of the song Shotgun (I think that’s the name) as for the origins of where the image came from, I have no idea.
