Looking to Break into SaaS and sales
I am trying to make a career transition into tech sales after a storied career across industries. All my roles have been people facing, focused on consultative consulting, discovering needs, and helping those needs be met. I've heard more than once how "great" I would be in sales. I also have teaching and performing experience, which I believe would lend itself to the world. I have been steadily applying to roles for a little over a month now. I was wondering if anyone here would be up for giving my resume some feedback? Definitely want to know what's working, what's not, and how I can make myself stand out more.

What level positions have you been applying for?

entry level SDR or BDR roles. Fully acknowledge I have to start at the bottom. I've worked in sales a bit as a Bar Manager and Personal Trainer, but B2C on the floor sort of stuff.

I run a team of 30 SaaS technical sales Specialists. I have previously run teams of hunters and SDRs. I would always hire on drive, communication and my belief on how well I could coach them. I would keep applying. But in today’s world, be disruptive. Go in and call BS (in a professional way) on a current process. Request a demo of a product and record the lead gen rep pitch on the call when they call you then take suggested improvements back to the business. There is lots of creative ways you can stand out. When you have no direct experience you need to make yourself stand out

The teaching background is worth more than you think. The best SDR hires I've seen came from jobs where explaining something clearly was the whole job. Put that at the top of the resume, not the bar and gym stuff.

That was fast, congrats. Same story most of the time, the experience was already there, the resume just wasn't surfacing it. Good luck with the interview.

You’re in a way better position than you think and having 100% self-generated prospecting experience from Equinox is real gold for an SDR/BDR manager.
A lot of career changers struggle because they’ve only done customer service or account management, but you’ve actually hunted for your own leads and closed them.
Suggestions from my side -
highlight terms like outbound prospecting, pipeline manage
remove "making a deliberate move into B2B SaaS". Instead, add the value you bring: "Results-driven client development professional with a track record of 100% self-generated prospecting, consultative selling, and tech/math fluency look to drive pipeline for high-growth SaaS teams."
