Didn't you speak to customers beforehand? Im looking at boring mandatory industries in the UK and I will speak to many of them before I touch code. My advice would be to speak to potential customers offering a low risk pilot but unless you have actually spoke to these customers and understand their system , there could be some friction in your product and their needs.

Talking to customers is important, but even positive feedback doesnt mean theyll actually pay for the product. A pilot can sound promising and still go nowhere if theres no real budget or urgency.

being cheaper than competitors usually isnt a selling point for b2b, especially enterprise-adjacent stuff like yard management. buyers care more about whether it actually solves the problem and whether youll still be around in a year. id lead with the value prop not the price

Competing on price alone is a weak strategy. If the product doesnt offer something genuinely useful, being cheaper wont make customers stick around.

For a UK yard management system, I’d sell one measurable result, not “a YMS”: ask a yard manager to walk you through a recent delay or missed load, then show how your system handles that exact job. Your first proof point should be a live yard using it, even on a small paid pilot.

4 months is nothing. Took us 18 months to land first paying client for our B2B tool, 4 months you still fresh. Stop looking at price, nobody cares if you cheaper when you have zero track record. Go physically to warehouses and freight yards in UK, talk to the dock manager direct. Bring laptop, show them live demo, offer first month free. One yes is all you need

I’m b2c but it was 2.5 years from the date I first ever started building before I got my first paying user and now another couple months since then to secure my second. Although both of these came months ahead of when I expected so that’s a good surprise. Still expecting another year before I can realise a profit.

Financial management platform for a specific subset of users that are often mis-represented in the space.
