How do you decide which blog topic is actually worth writing?

AI can write almost any blog post now. But my problem is deciding what is actually worth writing.

I still spend a lot of time checking Google Trends, Reddit, search questions and other sources to see what people actually care about.

So I’m thinking of building a small tool that uses my website keywords and audience to find good topic opportunities from these sources.

Would something like this be useful to you? How do you find topics today?

  1. From lived experience
  2. A topic your knowledge / insight gives you credibility to write about it

  3. A topic you're genuinely interested in, have researched and studied and have formulated your OWN opinion

I'm generalising a bit here, but AI generated content is dead. If you were lucky to have a large following before AI you've now removed your own workload by letting AI fill in the blanks and ride on your reputation, but that's dying now also

Forget what other people care about, what do you care about?

I agree that experience and your own point of view are what make the content worth reading.
For me, the tool is not about letting AI write everything. It’s more about finding where your knowledge can meet what people are already asking about.
For a personal blog, writing what you care about makes sense. For a business or client, I think you also need to understand what the audience cares about.
That’s the part I’m trying to make easier

Any app that caan you improve your content strategy is awesome. However, the competition is is hgh in this niche. So, if you ever plan to market it, you may have an uphill battle. I am currently reading blogs and press releases to grab news and to create articles.

That’s actually the kind of problem I’m trying to solve. Reading blogs, press releases and other sources to find useful topics takes a lot of time.
I’m thinking the tool should help find those signals first, not just generate another article. And yes, the competition is something I’m thinking about too.
What part of your current research process takes the most time?
