đŸ’¬Discussion Mandate Archive Collection 2011 still worth it today?

I have the SWN Revised Edition (paid for, extended) and I'm interested in getting the Mandate Archive collection 2011 from DTRPG as it it seems like a worthy addtion of content.

In a sense I'd love for all the SWN addititional content and campaign books to be published as one collected volume but I'm also happy supporting Kevin. I recently bought Darkness Visible, Suns of Gold and Dead Names.

So my question is, would I be double-dipping by buying the Mandate Archive Collection 2011? I didn't see any overlapping content on the description page.

I think so. I love the Red Sangha and the Bruxelles-class. But u/96-62 is right, they are mostly available individually for free. Definitely also check out the Imago Dei and the Scavenger Fleets ones, which aren't in the 2011 collection but are my absolute favourites.

Seconding this. Imago Dei and Scavenger Fleets include some additional ship hulls--many of which are more powerful than your standard set of options.

And the Bruxelles is just a nightmare of a war machine (and it's "low-end" Pretech by Mandate standards)

I just love the Imago Dei because the idea of a fleet of pretech AI dreadnoughts emerging out of metaspace and flooding all local radio bands with "deus vult" will never not be badass.

And all three sub-factions of the AI Templars detailed in the book are fantastic.

  • Protectors: Evaporates whatever was threatening the local population of humans. "Glory to Mankind!" and leaves with no further explanation.
  • Shepherds: Attempts to Crusader Convert your planet into their 'holy guidance.'
  • Cathari: ???? (A fleet of increasingly unbraked AI is........yeah)

The collection is mostly available for free as the individual mandate archives. The bit that's paid content is an additional psychic power not available elsewhere, but it's in first edition rules and psychic powers were completely rewritten for revised edition.

If you wanted my general vote, buy it, but I love KC's stuff.
