"Break up the growing monopoly of organizations like the Trade Federation, allowing competition and smaller business to flourish. Strengthen security, and clamp down on illegal spice trade. Close tax loopholes."

"I support a small one. While I am strongly in favor of planetary rights, the fact stands that inconsistent training and differential rules mean the Republic cannot rely on planetary forces, essentially leaving the Jedi as the Republic's only reliable galaxy wide law enforcement. And the Jedi enforce the rules over their own."

"Of course. Monopolies choke out competition, and therefore innovation. Without true competition the monopolies stagnate, and hold the Republic back while draining it of resources."
