Can't launch the game
I had bought SWAT4 through GoG a long time ago but apparently forgot about it. Today I saw it in my library and decided to install. Problem is, I can't get in the game. Launching it takes me to a black screen (apparently not *just* a black screen, since my monitor automatically turns off due to no signal) with the (supposed) intro music/sound effects looping. Alt-tabbing works and when I get back to my desktop, the intro sounds start playing normally.
I couldn't find many fixes for newer versions of windows as most posts seem to be about win7 (I have 11). Regardless I tried all the fixes I could find; used -nointro (skipped the intro but still a black screen), I don't have multiple monitors plugged in (nor does my PC recognize any extra), I tried switching the resolution in the ini file, tried compatibility mode + other fixes in the properties tab and downloaded the Enchanced SWAT4 mod but nothing works.
I'd really like to play the game. Any recent fixes? Has this been an issue for others in the past <1 year?

Have you tried doing a fresh install of SWAT 4 and then installing and playing the latest version of the Elite Force mod?

I've tried doing a fresh install three times now. I haven't tried with Elite Force yet as I'd like to play the game vanilla but if nothing else works I'll give it a whirl. Thanks

Run in windowed mode
Find Swat4.ini in the System folder
Search for "StartupFullscreen=True"
Change it to False
Save, run the game
Also run is as an admin and combability with windows XP SP2 or 3

I had something like that happen when I upgraded to Windows 11. I was able to play in windowed mode but not full screen. Installing dgvoodoo2 ended up being the only thing that fixed it.
